I haven't read the book. But I love the movie. Does this affect my manhood...? *CONCERNED LOOK*

14 AnswersCelebrities1 decade agoChristianity and television/radio?
A friend of mine was in a Christian group that disallowed their members the use of t.v and radio as well as alcohol. Since coming back to her home state, she's hung out with us and gotten back into old habits ie. Playstation, tv, alcohol. And now she's feeling guilty and wanting to move back.
She says that television takes time away that could be used praying to god and tempts people into negative thinking ie sexually etc.
How would you guys respond to this.
Ok, so I have no problem with the no alcohol thing. Heck, I think it may even be a good idea for me possibly. But the other stuff...
See, we had heaps of fun playing a quiz game as a group on the Playstation 2 a couple days ago. The four of us were laughing and having fun etc. I thought it was great bonding experience. And she was really enjoying it. And it breaks my heart to see her feel so guilty about it now.
(I'm agnostic by the way. If that makes a difference. I'm pretty open minded to people's beliefs.)

3 AnswersOther - United States1 decade agoTiny bit of glass in me?
A few months ago I got cut by some glass. I had to ahve stitches on my hand. I got a bit in my foot but I thought I got it all out.
I think I have a tiny bit of glass still in the sole of my foot. Most of the time it's fine. But occasionally during certain situations, eg. if I put all my pressure on one foot, I'll feel a bit of pain.
Usually it should work it's way out by itself. But I'm thinking 'cause it's in the sole of my foot, it might keep getting pushed back up there.
it's not normally a problem though. So should I get it seen to? What could happen if I leave it there? Do you think it might not even be glass at all?
1 AnswerOther - General Health Care1 decade agoDo contacts hurt? Should I get them?
I don't wear my glasses all the time like when I'm in my room etc. but a lot. ie. When I need my distance vision.
So do they hurt? I think I want them but the idea of touching my eye freaks me out a little. What's the experience you guys have had with them?
4 AnswersOptical1 decade agoWhat part/parts of the constitution has Obama broken?
Don't give broad generalisations. That's useless.
I want a quote of the specific parts he has allegedly broken and an explanation of how he has broken them.
Personally I don't think he has broken any. But obviously a lot of people think he has. So I'm curious.
7 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy doesn't our own planetary system have a decent name?
Other planetary systems have names like "Gliese 581", "Upsilon Andromedae" or "55 Cancri ". Ours is just called "The Solar System".
Sounds kinda generic. I really think the scientists need to come up with a name. Don't ya think? Any suggestions?
8 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoDoes the Yahoo Answers community lean to the right?
Now I know there are a lot of left wing posters here too. But it does seem there's a much larger amount of right wingers here. Especially judging from the amount of anti Obama questions etc. Is it just me or do others think so as well?
12 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy didn't anyone complain so much when Bush spoke to school children?
The things he spoke about such as "work hard at school" etc. hardly seem "socialist propaganda"....
I think it's just become the "cool" thing for Americans to hate on the their president.
I mean disagreeing with him is one thing, even passionately disagreeing with he president, but the amount of fear of a communist takeover shows how hysterical the fear of the right right really is. I can't believe some of the stuff people come out with.
27 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy is Israel building more settlements in the West bank?
Are they running out of room within their own borders?
Do they just like to stir up trouble with the Palestinians?
Now remember, I'm not asking whether they have a right to. I'm just wondering why they would want to.

10 AnswersPhilosophy1 decade agoWhat is the one unforgivable sin?
I remember there was one unforgivable sin mentioned in the New Testament. It's been a while since I read it so I can't remember what it was. But I'm a bit concerned I may have committed it and hence have no like with that Jesus guy in future if I decide I want to. Just wondering what it was and if someone can explain it to me.
Thanks.
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat do Americans think of the Western Democracies that ALREADY have public health care?
Just wondering how those Americans that think public health is so evil view us.
I mean countries like the U.K, Australia Canada, New Zealand and a lot of democratic European countries.
Do they think we're all communist anti capitalist or something?
We look at it like the fire service or the police force. Should a person's home be left to burn because they can't afford to pay the fire service?
should people really be denied health care when it need because they can't afford it?
It seems a common attitude in America that if someone's poor then it's always their own fault and they don't deserve any kind of help whatsoever. And yeah there's that old story about anyone can make it in America but sometimes situations beyond a person's control can completely wipe them out. And it's the same with any democratic country.
I guess you could argue, a house fire could start a larger fire and affect other people's property but health is largely the same. If certain members of the population are sick and untreated, it affects the whole community.
But yeah the main question is if you really think it's so evil and communist, do you guys all view us as communist countries rather than peers? It's an interesting concept I never really realised before.
14 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy do imperfect women always search for the perfect man?
I know the man should "accept you for who you are". But then why do some women only seem to be willing to accept the "perfect man"? And are you a perfect woman?
And if you don't accept your guy with flaws is it even love anyway?
I feel like our consumerist society and Hollywood movie ideals has brainwashed too many young women.
And if you are looking for the perfect guy, you'll only find manipulative guys because it's possible to manipulate people into believing you're perfect I'm not sure it's possible to actually be perfect.
