  • How to change the input on audiovox ve927 undercabinet tv?

I bought a ROKU streaming device so I could watch Netflix and others on my under cabinet TV, which came with only TV, AM/FM, and DVD. It does have A/V jacks (connectors) in the back of the unit, which I have connected to my ROKU. I powered on both devices and there is no ROKU screen as the manual says there ought to be.

I think I need to somehow change the input or source but after scrolling through all the menus I can find on the Audiovox, I can't find how to change the source. I wondered if it was "old school" like TVs used to be, where I had to have it on channel 3, but it doesn't allow me to manually change the channels, only automatically scan through the channels for a signal (which I tried in both Air and CATV modes but to no avail.)

There isn't a switch on the back to change inputs either, and the only thing it says in the manual is how to connect an external device, not how to actually use what you've connected.

If you have had success with one of these situations, a streaming player with a 9inch undermount tv, I would love your insight. Thank you.

  • What is a good recipe for edamame?

I was at a wonderful restaurant in the Mall of America where they served the best tasting edamame appetizer I've ever had. The waiter told me what dressing they made to toss the cooked pods with, but I can't remember what all was in it and can't seem to find any suggestions online. I know it was soy sauce, garlic, and lemon juice, but don't know the amounts and I think there was one more "suprise" ingredient in it, like tobasco or chili sauce or something. Anyone have a recipe to share? Suggestion? I'm having people over for appetizers tonight.

  • Which cookbook or cookbooks should I buy for use with my Vitamix?

I recently acquired a used vitamix due to the generosity of a friend. It didn't come with the book, but I'd like to make some of the recipes I've seen in demos and other super healthy stuff. I don't want sugary smoothies and milk shakes. I want health food. I'm not afraid to put cabbage, spinach, kale, or whatever in my smoothies, but I don't know where to start. Anyone have a good recommendation?

  • Making a small-run yearbook in digital format...any templates out there?

My homeschool co-op has asked me to coordinate our very first yearbook. I would like to compile it completely on my computer, then have it made into books. Are there any yearbook-specific templates I can use with Photoshop, or digital scrapbooking templates that are free out there? Has anyone done something like this? We only have about 75 students. What has worked for you? I want somewhat easy, but not expensive and I don't want it to look unprofessional.

  • is it generally worth it to reupholster furniture?

I have two chairs and an ottoman. Structurally they are still great. Even the fabric, a plaid cotton twill, is fine, and largely unstained. The cushions don't sag. There is nothing wrong with this furniture. We bought it about 9 years ago.

I am redecorating and retiring these colors from my living room. I still like these pieces, and style-wise they would fit with my idea for the "new look."

My question is, is it generally more economical to reupholster what you already have or just buy new?

If I should reupholster, what should I look for in an upholstery shop?

  • Buffet Trays for holiday party?

My mom's Holiday dinner parties were usually served buffet style, simply because there was not enough room at the table for everyone. Every person got a bamboo tray with a place setting on it, and these were handy for laps. I'm looking for something similar for my own Holiday party, but not as "vintage" looking. I also don't want to spend a lot...like $100 for a dozen or around there would be reasonable. I've googled "lap trays" and "buffet trays" and even "buffet lap trays" and can't seem to find what I'm looking for. If you can even think of a search term that could help me that would be helpful.

  • Can I be pregnant with so many reasons not to be?

I have two kids. I've been pregnant 6 times. 1 ectopic and 3 miscarraiges. I have a Copper T IUD in place; it's 5 years old. The only time I got my period and was still pregnant was when I was ectopic. I've been feeling pregnant lately. Bloated tummy, SORE breasts, strange tightness in the abdomen area...not normal. Dizzy spells, fatigue. No nausea, but cold symptoms. I got my period, and I don't even know if it was late...I don't keep very good track because of the IUD. But I'm still having the symptoms even after the period.

So, basically my question is: I know it's possible (not likely, but possible) to conceive on an IUD, and it's possible to have a normal period and be pregnant...BUT, if one is going to have a period and be pregnant, would it be more likely to have happened in previous pregnancies?

  • what type of bike to i need?

I'm just getting into triathlons (August will be my second) and I'm searching for a used bike to ride for training and racing. I'm currently riding a Cannondale mtn bike with road tires on it, but it's heavy and I think I'd like a bike meant for roads better. I'm 5' 1" and female...do I need a women's road bike, or will a smaller men's bike suffice?

  • Any suggestions for a ski boat accessory power source that doesn't drain the battery?

We have a Larson I/O. My husband enjoys the built-in radio, but can only listen to it for short durations because it drains the battery needed to start the motor. What alternatives to the main battery are there?

  • Can I display Funkins, or artificial carvable pumpkins, outside?

We bought some Funkins (artificial carvable pumpkins) this year so we could put them out earlier than real pumpkins. They're made of some type of hard foam, and then glazed for color. However, once you carve them the glaze is broken and the foam is exposed to the elements. Do they need to be treated before being placed outside, or are they indoor use only? Their website doesn't address this issue.

  • What can I cook over a campfire besides hotdogs?

One of my kids does not like hot dogs. We're camping this weekend, and I love the idea of everyone having their dinner on a stick over the fire, but I don't want to do only hot dogs because I want my son to enjoy camping....no hot dogs, no brats....what could I do to make it fun and tasty for him?

  • Are chills normal the day after a long run?

I ran my first half marathon on Sunday. It was fine and the worst was after it ended I had really really sore legs. Yesterday my legs were even worse, then last night in the middle of the night I had a violent shivering episode--my body was convulsing practically as I tried to get warm, teeth chattering uncontrollably, like a fever without the fever. I layed there shivering for over a half an hour. I finally got warm and got back to sleep, and when I woke up I was hot and sweaty.

My last training run was 11.5 miles, and two days after that I got a bad chest and head cold (no fever).

Am I getting sick again, or are the chills a normal part of recovery?

  • Can amoxicillin cause a reaction of?

itchy hands and feet? My son, age 5, has been on Amoxicillin since Tuesday for an ear infection. He's never reacted before to any meds. Wed and Thursday nights, he woke up complaining of itchy hands and feet. Tonight, his toes and the bottoms of his feet turned bright red about 35 minutes after his dose, and he claimed they were itchy. I would automatically think it's the meds, but he doesn't react from the morning dose at all. Friday night...no doc to talk to. What else could it be?

Additional details: he has no allergies that we know of, to medicine or foods or even seasonal. He's extremely healthy and happy. When he was a baby, he got frequent ear infections which were treated with antibiotics, though I can't remember which ones.
