Amount of Benadryl it's safe to give dogs for motion sickness?
My 1 year old pomeranian/papillon gets sick in the car when we take her places, so we try not to take her anywhere. but we're moving 2000 miles away soon, and we have to take her with us. We'll be driving so it'll be about 3 days to get there. I heard that Benadryl is safe for it, but I wasn't too sure about the amount I should give her. She's around 15 pounds, and will need to be on it for those 3 days. What dosage should I give her? Half a pill every 8 hours or so? She isn't on any other medications, if it matters.
Thanks :)
10 AnswersDogs8 years agoFire alarm goes off once at night?
I'm renting a house and we're not allowed to disable the fire alarms, but they keep going off. I don't mean a continuous beeping, and there's no pattern. Every once in a while there will be one long beep that lasts about 2 seconds, then it either doesn't happen again or it happens a few hours later. It happened last night, and I didn't worry too much about it because I thought it was a dream (was still half asleep). I'm not sure whether to worry about it too much or just leave it alone. There's no fire, smoke, or anything in the house. It's the ones upstairs, where I sleep, so it's the loudest and always wakes me up. Every once in while I can hear it go off from downstairs but I never really know if that's it or i'm just hearing things. Is this normal for fire alarms to do? It doesn't happen a lot, maybe once or twice every two weeks.
Anything helps, thanks. :)

3 AnswersMusic & Music Players8 years agoEasy way to treat rope burns?
My PE teacher is a licensed belayer and repeller, and has all of the equipment needed set up on our gym's mezzanine. Well, about 5 of us decided to climb up on the bleachers (while they were stacked up) and jump off while connected to the ropes, which would then swing us over the edge of the mezzanine and slam into the back wall. not the best idea, i know, but at least we were doing it safely connected to ropes. He allowed it.
Anyway, I got up there and had my foot in the bottom loop and the top loop was connected to my harness. But right when I jumped off, my foot slipped out of the loop, and I grabbed onto the rope tighter by instinct. My hands slipped about a foot, until my harness caught me and left me dangling. It didn't hurt for the first 5 minutes or so, so I was able to climb down and unhook myself safely. But after that I had a terrible burning sensation that I couldn't do anything about for at least 2 hours. I put aloe lotion on it, and it feels much better, but I can see this happening again tomorrow. Is there an easier way to heal them? And will they scar? It isn't deep at all, the skin on my entire hand is just abraded and looks lustrous and tight.
Just for future reference. I will try to be more careful.
Thanks! :)
1 AnswerPain & Pain Management8 years agoHow to spell the word for balcony, pronounced "me-zo-nay?"?
I've been saying this word for years now because we have one in our school, but I've never had to write it out. It's pronounced "me-zo-nay" and means an inside balcony. Is it mesonet? when i looked it up on google, it showed something about weather stations, so i'm not completely sure.

3 AnswersWords & Wordplay8 years agoMale puppies aren't able to breed at 9 months, right?
My mom just got home from work and told me someone asked her if she could breed her female dog with my male one. Hers is a chihuahua, mine's a chihuahua/pomeranian. He's only 9 months old, so I kind of doubt it's safe to breed him now.. but he /has/ mounted my other dogs quite a bit (usually in the face) so I know he's getting to be mature, i'm just not an expert in dog breeding so i don't know. NO, this person is not a professional dog breeder, but she's still able to breed her dogs if she wants to. So I was wondering, what's the youngest age that it's safe to breed a dog? As soon as he's able to be neutered, right? I'm planning on doing it soon, so I'd really like to breed him as soon as i can.
If you're planning on being extremely rude, please read this:
Just because I know how rude you people can get when asking about puppies I WILL stress this. You'll probably say that the person isn't a professional, and will probably mess it up, and that I shouldn't ever breed my dog (to get him fixed RIGHT AWAY) because "everytime a puppies born, another dog dies." I understand that it's recommended you should adopt a dog from a shelter, but I know of no shelters that carry newborn puppies. Not everyone wants a full grown dog (it's sad, really, how many people don't. but i understand it, they want more time with their dogs, not just a year or two before they die). And plus, dogs are meant to die eventually. So are humans. That'd be like making it illegal to have children, just because there are so many kids without homes. Try convincing everyone. It's just not going to happen.
if you read this and comment something reasonable, then thank you. if you're still planning on being rude, dont even bother to reply.
Thanks! :)
7 AnswersDogs8 years agoWord for someone who has approached you?
I'm trying to write a 'professional sounding' fanfiction, and I can't seem to come up with a word for this sentence. Before the sentence, a guy unexpectedly walks up to someone in a forest (that he knows very well) and calls out to him. this is the sentence:
" ... "Un?.." The blonde held up his downcast eyes and slowly turned towards his ____, seemingly lost in thought and completely unaware of his surroundings. He glanced up the man with a blank expression on his face and blinks."
Could I just use approacher? What are some other synonyms for that? I don't really like the way it sounds. I suppose I could use comrade, or partner, since it fits their situation - but i want it to sound like he's completely oblivious to who called out to him until he sees his face (or mask, in his case.)
Sorry if it's such an easy word, I just can't seem to think of it.
Thanks! :)
1 AnswerWords & Wordplay8 years agoHow to get my puppy to stop getting out of the yard?
This has been going on for weeks. I have a 9 month old Chihuahua that's 4 or 5 pounds. We have a fenced in yard, but the fence doesn't quite reach down to the ground in a few places. I've been working on it for a few months, but he always seems to find a new spot to crawl under. I'll be getting chicken wire and cinder blocks to block off the areas, but i'm kind of in a tight money situation, so it'll be a few weeks before i can get it. I have him on a lead so he can get in and out without being able to leave (i have a doggy door for him and my other dog) but he keeps getting wrapped up around chairs and on things outside. I'm really worried because if it snows or rains and he's stuck outside while i'm gone, he could freeze to death. And he usually sleeps with me but my room is upstairs and he can't get to it without me tying leashes to the end of his lead, so he whines all night. I know I can just put a cover on the doggy door, but then he won't be able to get outside to use the bathroom, and i'm renting a house right now so if he goes inside i'll have to pay extra for it, including re-training him to go outside. You'll probably tell me to get up every few hours and let him out, but i dont get enough sleep as it is.
Anyway, my question is, how do i keep him from doing it until I can get the chicken wire? Some sort of punishment will do, to where he understands what he's doing wrong. I dont think he /does/ understand, every time i let him off because of sympathy, i find him in the neighbour's yard and have to hop the fence. It's getting to the point where we can't let him off the lead /at all/ or he'll get out. When he does, I pick him up and bring him inside and shove the lead's chain in his face, tell him NO and clip it on, then ignore him for a few hours.. but it doesn't seem to work.
help? thanks.
4 AnswersDogs8 years agoSwollen lymph nodes, took medicine but they came back?
A few weeks ago I started having a pain in my neck under my left ear, and I could feel a swollen ball. I went to the doctor and she said I have swollen lymph nodes (the one in my right ear started swelling as well) so she prescribed me Bactrim DS for twice a day. I took them, and by the time I was done taking them the swelling went down and felt fine again. But a few days ago the left one started to hurt again, and now it's swollen. the left one is fine.
I will be going to the doctor again tomorrow, but I was wondering why it's doing this? I have TMJ and constant ear infections - could that be the cause of it? I just want to know what to expect tomorrow when i go there, and if it's normal for this to happen :)
Thanks!

I have a few ideas for drawings for deviantart, but i'm not the best artist - so do you know anyone who accepts requests? i'm not a huge deviant, i just go on there to look at drawings. And by drawings I mean characters, and character modifications. For example, I RP matsuri from naruto on twitter and i would like to have a picture of her and another character (one will be a dog, bisuke from naruto) and other things.
If there's anyone that's up for the challenge, let me know! ^-^ my deviantart is http://kaorukasumi.deviantart.com/

4 AnswersDrawing & Illustration8 years agoIf you obtain a license in one state and move to another, will you have to retake the test for a new license?
I'm 14 and I just started taking driver's ed. i have my Traffic Education Permit right now, meaning I can only drive with my instructor. Once I obtain my llicense will I still be able to use it in a different state?
I'm moving from Montana back to Louisiana. in Montana you have to be 15 in order to get your license, which I will be soon, but in Louisiana i'm almost positive you have to be 16. I'll be 15 by the time I move there. I'm sure I have to get a Louisiana issued license, but will I have to retake any tests? Or do I just show them the license and other forms of identification, and just get a new one for Louisiana? Also how many days do I have to switch it out?

2 AnswersInsurance & Registration8 years agoQuestions about how to say "i love you" in Japanese?
(romaji for now, though i could write it in kana)
I know it's "Daisuke" and "Aishiteru" but i was listening to a song (Cassis by the GazettE) and ruki said "Ai Shite Iru" instead of aishiteru. which means there was an extra I. can it be both ways, or does the extra I imply that it means something different?
if it's determined by the sentence, here's the small verse that contains it:
"Ashita anata no kimochi ga hanarete mo kitto kawarazu, ai shite iru"
thanks :)
4 AnswersLanguages8 years agoMy 7 month Chihuahua won't eat his puppy food, but will eat adult food?
I have a 7 month old chihuahua/pomeranian that's 4-5 pounds. His name is Kaito.
We've fed him a few different brands of dog food, and liked Blue the best. We give him the small breed puppy (in the pink bag) and my other dog, who's a pomeranian/papillon about 13 months and 15 pounds, the small breed adult. The only difference between the foods is that one's adult and one's puppy.
I've never had a problem feeding him, he always rushes over to his food and chows it down. i do give him an occasional table scrap (a piece of chicken or some sort of meat) but i've always done that, and he's healthy. I feed both of my dogs at the same time, in seperate bowls and seperate parts of the same room. Kaito always looks over at Miya's food, but he never eats hers unless he's done and i'm not watching him.
Sometimes my mom will let Kaito eat the rest of miya's food (we have trouble getting her to eat it all) instead of giving him his puppy chow. So recently he's been uninterested in his own food. The ONLY way I can get him to eat it is to let miya eat a little bit of it, then he'll get angry and go finish it. But god forbid i make my own food while he's eating..... .-.
Anyway, he'd rather eat the adult food over the puppy food. is there a difference in it that im not catching? they look the same to me, i'm guessing its the taste of the adult that he likes best. Is it bad to start feeding him the adult food at 7 months? it doesn't seem to affect him, but i'm not an extreme dog expert. The vet here isn't very reliable (long story, just trust me he's not a great vet) so i'd rather not bring him to the vet for this unless i absolutely have to.
so what should i do? keep trying, or feed him the adult food from now on?
thanks.
5 AnswersDogs8 years agoBest strategy to beat Riku 2 from Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories?
I beat Riku the first time, then went to hundred acre wood. I have neverland and hollow bastian left to go to, so i haven't gotten my glide ability yet.
I have alot of good cards, ranging from 6-9. no zero's (at some point i thought they were useless so i threw them all away). i have a few fires, and a blizzard. two heals and a reload. that's it. I can't go back and try to get more cards, like zeroes, and i cant obtain glide because im in 100 acre wood.
What's the best way to beat him? I've tried dodge rolling (it helped me ALOT trying to defeat cloud, so i thought it'd work) but he always gets me when he uses his high jump sleight (he jumps up and comes down fast with lightning). I dont see how i could beat him the first time, but not the second time.
thanks.
2 AnswersVideo & Online Games8 years agoMy friend's dentist cut her labial frenum..?
My friend just called me and told me her dentist cut her labial frenum, without even asking. I know it can be removed by a dentist, but why? and why would he just cut it like that?? he didn't even ask or anything, just snipped it and said she didn't need it. He said it'd make her be able to open her mouth wider, but i think that's bullshit.. Are dentists supposed to do this?
I'm not a dentist, so i dont know, but i wouldnt want mine to cut my labial frenum.
1 AnswerDental8 years agoBad reception with Straight Talk Phone?
I've been using the Straight Talk service since May of 2012. Note that then, I lived on the South side of town. I had no problems with my phone there. But ever since i moved to the North side of town, i've been having terrible reception. I already checked the straight talk map where it shows what parts they provide service to, and it looks like the South side of town gets it but the North side doesnt. Why is this? I thought straight talk uses Verizon wireless towers? everyone i know on verizon plan gets good reception....
When inside my house, i cant send a message or make/answer a call unless i'm standing by a window or right up against an outer wall. Yet i can recieve messages anywhere. I tried calling straight talk customer line, they were of no help. they told me to call the activation number. i did, and i could send TWO messages without being by a window. Then it started saying "one or more messages cannot be sent" again. and it isn't just this phone...my new straight talk phone did the same thing, so i had to switch back to my old one. actually, my new one was even worse! how do i fix this??
my model is Samsung R355C, if that helps any.
thanks.

2 AnswersLanguages8 years agoPhantom of the Opera questions?
In Drama class a few weeks ago we watched the Phantom of the Opera. I payed attention, but if I don't have anything clearly explained to me, I don't understand it. I don't know much of what it's about and I couldn't follow the storyline clearly since it was in Opera. So, can someone help me answer these questions? It's a really big assignment and I'll fail it if I don't do it.
Now, these questions are long and need to have thought put into them. Please do your best at answering :)
1. Many of you expressed verbally, though enormous sighs, and other miscellaneous gestures that you are bored by The Phantom of the Opera and musical theatre in general. Andrew Lloyd Webber's darkly romantic musical about a mysterious "Opera Ghost" who inspires a young singer has become a legend, drawing standing-room audiences throughout the world. Why do you think this is? Do you believe that one's maturity reflects his or her ability to find beauty, intelligence, and entertainment in opera or musical theatre? Why or why not?
2. In his treatise on fairy tails and fables, The Uses of Enchantment, Bruno Bettelheim makes the statment, "Each fairy tale is a magic mirror which reflects some aspects of our inner world, and of the steps required by our evolution from immaturity to maturity." Relate this statement to Christine. How is the Phantom of the Opera the story of her maturity, of her "growing up?" (for this question my teacher told me something about Christine growing to like and accept the phantom's true face under his mask.)
3. How high a priority do we place on physical beauty and perfection? Why? (I would've said a very rude comment on this one, which I don't mind putting at all.)
4. Discuss the phrase, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" with regards to Christine. Remember that she is the only character to see "the man behind the monster," when she sings, "yet in his eyes / all the sadness / of the world... / those pleading eyes / that both threaten / and adore..."
5. Besides the obvious Opera characteristics, how does the music of the Phantom of the Opera contribute to the story?
6. Relate and discuss the following text from the Merchant of Venice (Act V, sc. 1) to the phantom:
"The man that hath no music in himself, Nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds, is fit for treasons, stratagems, and spoils; the motions of his spirit are as dull as night, and his affections dark as Erebus; let no such man be trusted."
7. Although the Opera's music may not be what you listen to on a daily basis, why is the music catchy and entertaining to such a wide variety of audience members? (this I would've said everyone likes their own type of music and there are MANY people who don't like opera. I, personally, listen to only a little opera - from one band called Moi Dix Mois (or Malice Mizer) - but if they just had opera music I most likely wouldn't listen to them.)
I know these questions may be a little difficult to answer, but for anyone who try answering, thank you so much. I really do appreciate it.
