  • Help with homeless mom?

My mom is a complete mess. She is about to be kicked out of where she’s living. My landlord won’t let her live with me in my one bedroom apartment because of her drug abuse history and 5th degree assault. She’s 44 years old and can’t keep a job.

She has over $30,000 in child support that needs to be paid back and can’t get her drivers license until she pays it. My mom has been living like this since she was 18 years old.

Am I horrible and selfish for not wanting to help her anymore? I’m stressed and burned out! I just want to be able to live my life without worrying about her.

  • Apartment move out help?

This is my first apartment. I feel pretty stupid asking, but do I need to fill in nail holes myself or does the landlord do that?

    Thanks.

  • Overcoming social anxiety and awkwardness?

My boss is having a party at her house and employees are invited. But I suffer from social anxiety and I’m not much of a talker. I have mixed feelings about this, because they will notice that I’m like this all the time. And I don’t want my boss to see it either.

Last time I attended an event, I was a bridesmaid and I had to leave the reception because I felt so anxious and ended up crying in the bathroom. I’ve tried counseling but it’s not working. Medication helps a little. I might go back on it. I’m 26 years old and I don’t really have any friends. Will this ever end?

  • Doctor's note for companion cat?

My apartment does not allow animals, but it's turning into Noah's ark. The manager knows people are sneaking in cats, but does nothing about it.

I want to do this the right way without getting evicted. Can she say no if I get a doctor's note? I do have some anxiety issues.

I have asked her once before if I could have one, even offered a pet deposit. She still said no, companion animals not allowed. She is not a nice manager, she picks favorites. Advice?

  • What to expect for wisdom teeth removal?

I am having three wisom teeth removed next week. One is impacted. I am kind of freaking out over this. Can anyone tell me how theirs went and how they felt afterwards? Will I feel or see anything when I'm put under? How will I feel after it's done?

  • Dreading my aunt's wedding?

My two aunts and I are not on speaking terms. My aunt Sheila is getting married next month and my mom said she's okay with me being there.

However, my aunt Teresa is holding a major grudge against me because when my mom got out of the hospital I refused to take her in because of her drug problems.

Obviously, she will be there as well. I am probably making it seem worse than it already is, but I can't help but be nervous about this wedding coming up. How can I avoid my aunt Teresa and not look uncomfortable?

  • Am I horrible for not taking my mom in?

My mom is 42 years old and had brain surgery. Her drug addiction caused this. She is doing very well in the hospital, but she will have nowhere to go after being discharged.

She can't stay with me because my landlord will do a background check. I just don't trust her. She lied when she said she wasn't using. My aunt called me and told me that it is my responsibility to take everything on. My mom has some serious issues and I can't fix her.

My aunt will no longer talk to me. She told me that if she ends up homeless or dead, it would be my fault. I love my mom, but she has never acted like one. My siblings agree with me, but I feel horrible.

She has never been very responsible and she can't keep a job. I thought it was time to do something for myself for once.

I work full-time and I am enrolled in college. I just can't handle this! The pressure from my mom's family is really taking a toll on me.

  • Stressed about my mom's situation?

My mom just had brain surgery for her aneurysm. She is doing well and will be discharged soon, but she doesn't have a place of her own. She has $32,000 in debt for child support and God knows how long it has been since she has done her taxes.

She has never been able to hold on to a job and when she does, child support takes most of it. There are other family members, but the pressure is on me to take her in. I love my mom, but I can't be responsible for her all the time.

I will no doubt let her stay with me until she is fully recovered, but I don't know what to do after that is done. She will have to apply for disability and she can't get her driver's license back until her child support is paid off. She is 42 years old and I don't see that happening.

My other siblings can't afford to help out and I feel like this is all on my shoulders. I can't be there for her all the time because I work full time. My mom has nothing to her name and she has had some drug history and that is another reason I am reluctant to take her in.

She has always been more a friend than a mother. Out of all my other siblings, I am the one who is really independent. I live in a one bed-room apartment and even though it is nice, there isn't a lot of room.

Currently, I am working with a patient advocate and a case manager to help with this situation, but I am so stressed out with everything. The pressure I am getting from my other family members is really starting to take a toll on me.

  • Is $1500 too much for a puppy?

I have always wanted a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy. Cost is usually $1500-$1800. Even though it's a pure breed, is that considered way too much?

  • Steps to buying my first townhouse?

I am a 25 year old female who is single and currently renting an apartment. I eventually want to buy a townhouse but when people try to explain the process, it sounds confusing. Let me know if I have this right:

    1. Find a lender/Get approved

    2. Find a real estate agent

    3. Search and pay down payment

    4. fill out the paper work/ closing costs

I know that HOA fees are required and that they're are tax deductions for building equity. Please let me know if I need to know anything else. Thanks.

  • Townhouse or a regular house?

I have enough money for a down payment. But I don't know if a townhome or a regular house is better. I know that I want pets. HOA fees can be high and increase, but are they worth it? Please excuse my ignorance.
