12 year old cat is vomiting copious clear mucus. What could be wrong?
This is a copy and paste of a question asked by me about this cat two years ago. She was extensively examined by the vet who could find nothing wrong with her:
My 10 year old cat has always vomited - usually after eating grass. Now it's worsened. What's wrong?
My cat is 10 and has always been a 'vomiter' in that she either eats too quickly or she eats grass. Recently the problem has got worse. I took her to the vet. He thought she might have an infected ulcer and she has just finished a course of antibiotics. At first, she seemed better and brighter in herself. Tonight (well it's now 1.30 am) she has got worse. She sits upright and growls with pain whenever anyone either touches her or she herself tries to lie down. She is very still as this seems to be the way to ensure that the pain does not get too bad. Obviously we'll rush her to the vet in the morning - but does anyone have any idea what might be wrong? She's had the hair ball ointment. I doubt it's a hairball, though.
Now, the cat's symptons have taken a tun for the worse. Her hind legs seem to wobble as though from the hips at times, and the vomit is now mostly totally clear mucus. A lot of it! She does drink water. I'm beginning to think we'll have to have her put down but am reluctant to as we love her and she's not in pain. But six or seven heaps of sick a day is getting beyond our coping mechanisms. Any insight?

This girl will need a breakfast, packed lunch and an evening meal. (ARGH! What possessed me??!)
4 AnswersStudying Abroad1 decade agoWould you report someone to the RSPCA if they failed to look after their long haired cat properly?
A long haired tomcat regularly calls by our house. He's sweet but is a terrible mess - tangled, matted hair with fleas teeming inside the lumps of fur. I've tried combing him (I have two long-haired cats myself who are combed daily) but he's beyond being combed. I've phoned the number on his collar and know he lives about 600 metres away. I told the owner that I thought he must be lost as he was in such a sorry condition. He said he wasn't and would find his own way home. At the risk of being verbally abused(!) I said that the cat was badly matted and he agreed, saying it was a job for the vet and he'd take him. This still hasn't happened. What would you do?
9 AnswersCats1 decade agoWhy do you think it is that people ask questions in Yahoo Answers that can be answered easily by googling?
I find it strange as it seems easier to just type in the keywords into google. I love the type of question for which there is no easy answer and can understand the people who ask these questions. But the others.... are they lazy, attention-seekers or just ignorant? Or is there another explanation?

1 AnswerCleaning & Laundry1 decade agoWhere can I find good quality (for an adult) bedroom furniture with a range of matching home-office furniture?
I want to reavamp my daughter's room so that is is suitable for her as a sophisticated retreat when she comes home from university. As she is studying medicine, she will be a student for years to come and needs a room where she can work as well as sleep. I can't find a UK supplier that can provide wardrobes/desks etc all in the same range. Any ideas?
6 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoAm I right to be cautious?
My husband and I have to be away overnight and my 16 year old son will be left home. We are both high school teachers and the pupils we teach live in our hometown. My concern is that if we leave my son 'home alone' that he might get some unwanted visitors and could experience some difficulty from the 'boy racers' who park in droves opposite our house. This difficulty could range from simple noise nuisance to a forced entry into the house. Even if he was to call the police, policing is sparse in our town and he would not have immediate assistance. For this reason, I have asked a relative to spend the night here and now he feels that it is a matter of betrayal and that we don't trust him. It is not that at all! What do you think?

5 AnswersCats1 decade agoAre Maine Coon cats really destructive?
I really like the Maine Coon cat and would love one. I have two beloved moggies already but feel they'd adapt well to a third. I've been reading about the breed and see that many people find them difficult as they tend to sweep things off shelves. Do they really? Or can they be trained not to? My cats would not consider jumping onto anything other than a bed or chair! I have read that they are very intelligent so hopefully it is more of a question of how they're treated than a breed characteristic. Or is it?!
6 AnswersCats1 decade agoBest cell phones for Brits in Orlando?
We're a family of five British tourists and want to buy Cell Phones when we get to Orlando. We would need to buy at least 3 but would only be able to use them for three weeks. We could then possibly sell them on ebay for another family to use. Any advice (types of phone, prices, network) please?
