I went off the pill on Friday for health reasons, and my doofy husband got all romantic this evening and we had unprotected sex. How likely do you think it is that I might be pregnant so quickly? We weren't planning on TTC for at least a few months, if we decide to at all.

My daughter is 9 and all of the shows she watches are IMO brainless garbage...Spongebob, Chowder, H2O...you'd think with 200 channels there would be some intelligent programming. There are great shows for adults, lots of children's programming for preschoolers, and some really terrific shows geared toward teens, but nothing worth watching for her age level. Are we missing something?

The ones for his tester (Freestyle Freedom) are like $26.00 for a box of 100 lancets but I saw them at WalMart where "compatible" ones run about $8.00 for the same sized box. I wondered if anyone had used "off brand" lancets, and if they had good or negative experiences to share.

I've been on the pill for years (last change in Dec) and never miss, have 2 daughters (12 & 9) but have been having strange symptoms. Swelling in my feet for no reason (dr. put me on meds), nausea and vomiting (small amounts, especially in the morning), and tender breasts. Aunt Flow's plane was supposed to land Sunday (per my pill schedule) but I haven't even seen a glimmer. I also had 3 bizarre baby-related dreams over the weekend...is someone trying to tell me something? I took a pee test Monday (not first thing) and it was negative. Do you think it's too soon to test again, or could the water pills be affecting my cycle? I'm not sure if I should panic or rejoice at the possibility...help me not panic...

My daughter is 12 and insists she doesn't know how to load the dishwasher. She will unload it, but you'd think the world would collide if she had to load it back up. Now clearly, this is a bid to get out of doing the job, but what are some tricky ways I can teach her how to properly load the dishwasher so she fills it without overfilling it (or runs it half empty)?

I need to lose a significant amount of weight...my first goal is 30 lbs. I'm a busy mom of 2 and I just don't have a lot of extra time for meetings, hitting the gym, and counting carbs, but how else do I get started? I need something that's easy enough to implement family-wide (my husband is pre-diabetic and also needs to lose weight) so fad diets are out...general guidelines and recipes are appreciated!

We have lived in our house for almost 5 years, and the across the street neighbors have an obnoxious habit. It's an older couple (late 50s) & their son, who is at least 30. They have 3 vehicles, a boat, & a camper, and we live in a tight little subdivision so there's not a lot of extra space. They use the street (which is on our side) for parking, so the dad's truck and the son's car are ALWAYS parked in front of our curb. The son hits the curb EVERY time he parks, so it's damaging our curb, & we have to pay to get it replaced, & we always have to maneuver around their cars to mow the treelawn.

We were talking with the mom a while back, and she gave us the lame excuse that "they have the boat and the camper, so that's why they HAVE to park on the street" so they KNOW it's rude and inconsiderate to every other person on our end of the street. If we have guests, they have to park down the street because these idiots use the street as their driveway...how should we handle this?

When I learned mine, my parents had just purchased a dishwasher (mid 1980s) and I had to watch that beautiful dishwasher while I washed dishes with my mom by hand. She washed, asked me a problem, then I'd answer it as I rinsed the dish. By the end of 3 nights, I knew them all, and was allowed to use the dishwasher again! To this day, I still know them and have used the "dishwashing" method with my girls too!

I've been on the pill constantly for 9 years, but switched to Loestrin FE in December. For a couple of months I had breakthrough bleeding (for the first time ever), but that tapered off and disappeared. This past month, I missed a day of my pill and took 2 the next day, and about 10 days later I had some breakthrough. That was 2 weeks ago. Now I've got a raging headache, my boobs are tender, and I feel like everything I eat is sitting in my chest. Am I paranoid if I take a pregnancy test, or can I attribute these weird symptoms to something else?

My 12 year old daughter wears Airwalk sneakers that are cutesy and plaid...sort of skater style. This is the 3rd pair she has had, and since she started wearing this style of sneaker, her feet have started being really rank! Like, knock you flat on your hiney stanky. I don't know if it's her age or the shoes or what. Any thoughts on what I can do to bring peace into our nasty smelling household?
