  • How do all those celebrities get residency permits for the U.S.?!?

I am asking this question as someone who doesn't have a permanent residency permit and am wondering how all these foreign celebrities (mostly Brits) are able to live in the U.S. seemingly without any efforts.

If you're a movie star you're not really considered employed I wouldn't say at least not regularly (normally) neither as a model or musician. Also I don't think they all have immediate relatives who are U.S. citizens.

Do they usually stay the three months they are allowed to by the visa waiver program then go back to their home country for a weekend and enter again for 90 days or is there a special treatment for celebrities?!

  • Safety in First Class Suites?

So I have been toying with the idea of flying first class ever since seeing the introduction of private suites as on the new Emirates or Singapore Airlines A-380s. It's not that I am scared or concerned but everyone keeps talking about airplane safety and then I ask myself how safe are these new types of cabin layout?!

Especially on Singapore Airlines where you have a separate bed folded over your actual chair, which is reclined in the process. What in an emergency? Every passenger has to fold back their bed, open up the chair, sit down, buckle up, all after being drawn from a possibly deep sleep?! Not to mention how the dividing walls and sliding doors could obstruct the escape routes after a rough landing.

I just find it a bit odd considering you're sometimes not even allowed to have your jacket in your lap upon take-off or landing, seeing as in the case of suites you'd have your entire bed-ware in the way. Anyone know what safety regulations say in this regard if there even are any?!

  • What is this strange place in the Bering Straight?

I was skimming through Google Maps today and found this curious island in the Bering Straight ( 51.993813, -176.093459 ) You can zoom in until you see the wrecked landing pier ... so it is definitly a man-made settlement, propably abandoned. But what are those circle shaped structures for that are scattered along the path leading away from the beach? Anyone any ideas? I would also like to ehar the wildest theories :P

  • Why do we only use so little of our brain?

I mean why is our brain so elaborate if we only use a low percentage of it anyway. What is natures reason for that. Because as I believe nature does not give without reason ... 5 fingers on each hand, toes ... all stuff that serves a purpose. What about the additional brain capacity then?

  • What percent of all humans on this planet have no access to electricity and plumbing?!?

I was wondering how many people would still, in the year 2007, not have electric light and toilets or running water.

Please name a valid source, it's for work.

  • For what possible reason are gasoline prices constantly rising?!?

Why is that? I don't know about the rest of the world but in Europe gasoline is getting more expensive in a faster rate then what you could blame on inflation ... or the decrease of fossil fuel.

  • If you could choose, which TV show would you like to be your live?!?

So imagine this ... your live could be a popular TV show. What would it be?!

Would you want to live in the O.C. going to Harbor with Seth and Co?

Or would you like to be best buddies with Clark Kent in Smallville.

Fly to the stars with Captain Kirk or have a nice and sheltered live with the Waltons.

And you have to explain why you'd want that ;)

  • Can Role playing be a trial run for life?!?

I was wondering if someone else out there thinks that you can find out a lot about yourself through playing RPGs. That you can some sort of discover your options without going through actual rejection or pain.
