My mother just got blood work back. They said her Blood platelets are high and she has large platelets. What is this a sign of? My mother is in End stage renal failure, a diabetic, has infections, and a few other ailments. She has an appointment with a blood specialist but I just wanted to know what I might be getting into.

When turning on my computer, my screen was flashing solid colors. I am a lesbian with a straight male roommate. We’ve lived together about 2 months now. I’ve known him for 8-9 years. When I first met him I thought I liked him but realized I didn’t. He was just a guy, the only guy that I was friends with and I thought that meant I should like him. (a whole gay acceptance issue). Nothing has EVER happened between us. We have NEVER said anything out of the way. We are simply friends. I’ve helped him out a few times. He stayed with me for about a month when he didn’t have a job.

He asked my girlfriend to go in and get me an Ipod Nano for Christmas. But in shopping he decided that he would buy it himself since it really wasn’t too much. He said it was nothing compared to the help I’ve given him. My girlfriend thinks it’s too much. She NOW thinks that we have a “thing”. Always makes comments and it drives me nuts. I do not see anything wrong with it. Yeah it is a little much, but it is also something I’ve wanted for a while. What do you think? Is it too much to give a friend?

I have this perfectly round spots in the crease of my neck. They are not scaly, itchy, or raised. It started as just two that if I bend my neck to the side, the two circles can touch. there is another one forming to the side. They are not dark, but they are just a little redder than the rest of my skin. I do have a red pigment, especially on my face. (It often looks like a rash on my face or I look flushed when I don’t wear makeup) I can not find anything online about this… I’m concerned… should I be?

I currently have Acrylic nails. I have jammed my finger and now my nail along with the acrylic is lifting up from my nail bed. I have been putting super glue under my nail to keep it in place. It does not hurt as long as I’m not hitting it again, but some how I always do. I have gotten a fill in since I did it, it didn’t hurt but then I jammed it again.

Will the nail grow back to the nail bed?

What is a good way to keep my finger protected? (pinky nail)

We just brought a kitten into our home a week ago. She is now 7 weeks old and she has fleas. We have another 1 ½ year old cat too. The kitten is too young to use a topical chemical treatment. What are fast effective ways to get rid of fleas? I keep washing the kitten in dawn and using tweezers to pick out the dead fleas. The 1 ½ year old kitten will NOT let us give her a bath.

I’ve never had fleas before and have no idea on what steps need to be taken to get rid of them. I have seen so many “tips” online but unsure of what really is safe and effective.

Just got a kitten last night that is 6 weeks old today. When I am with her she is playful and loving. I am gone for work about 9 hours a day. I have her in a single room with her litter box and food (she is trained) while I’m at work so our other cat does not bother the baby. This is so silly but I’m worried the kitten will be depressed and not like me anymore because she is alone for so long. Should I worry about this? Tips?

I am planning a Carry-In for people at work. We have about 25 people attending. People will be bringing their indoor grills so we can cook on safely. Among other food we will be having hamburgers and hot dogs. How many lbs of hamburger and how many hot dogs should we get?

I have been trying to find a coke commercial I saw recently. There was this guy on a bench. There was this girl next to her. The guy was weird and was making sounds as a generic cell phone ring. He looks around like he’s trying to find the phone. He reaches into his bag and pulls out a coke. He puts it up to his ears like he is answering it and then gives it to the girl and says “it’s for you”.

Please help. I have to find it. My girlfriend thinks I’m nuts.
