Indoor herb garden with high efficiency windows?
My husband and I recently put in the high efficiency windows, and my kitchen herb garden died. I had them in the bay window. It seems my spider plant has survived, but it seems the herb garden needs the UV rays my windows now block. Any suggestions on how to revive and keep it going? Is there an attractive light I can add?
Thanks!
1 AnswerOther - Home & Garden9 years ago2 weeks late, negative tests, and sore throat...pregnant?
My husband and I have been ttc since late August (last period August 20). Well, I haven't had my period (no signs of it coming, which is odd for me), have had 2 negative tests, and I have had a sore throat on and off for the past couple weeks - not sick, just a sore throat once in a while. Other symptoms are lack of appetite and tired. Could I be pregnant, or am I just hoping too hard?
2 AnswersTrying to Conceive9 years agoWhat does toner do for your face? Should I apply am or pm? more questions...?
I am thinking of using toner for my face. I have pretty good skin, and I have read about using toner. I know I will apply after I wash my face, but I have a few questions:
Should I apply once or twice a day?
If only once, am or pm?
Should I apply before or after moisturizer?
Should I apply moisturizer at all if I use moisturizer?
Can/Should I put make-up over it? (I only use blush and eye make-up with a tinted moisturizer)
Any recommendations for products?
Thanks everyone!
1 AnswerMakeup9 years agoMy dog knows when my husband hugs me. How?
We have a three story townhouse, and it doesn't matter where my husband and I are in the house and where our dog is (Bear). From 2 floors away, Bear will come running as soon as my husband hugs me. He says he can smell us (something about pheramones), and I think he hears us. What do you think?
By the way, he isn't being aggressive, just wants some attention. He will just sit and watch until we pay attention to him. We call it 'family hug' time.
Thanks for you input!
2 AnswersDogs9 years agoWhat to wear to a black tie event?
My husband is an attorney at a big law firm, and we just found out we need to go to NYC for a black tie event with some of his clients. I am not a fashion girl, I mostly wear jeans and boots (I show horses). But I want to make sure I look good for this.
So my question, what should I wear? I figure a long dress, but any specific ideas? I am about 5'7" and typically a size 8.
Keep in mind I have to leave Friday afternoon to travel up to NYC.
Thanks!
3 AnswersFashion & Accessories9 years agoI have an idea for an Eagle Scout project...who do I contact to get it done?
We are having a bug problem in our neighborhood, so I thought an boy scout looking for an Eagle Scout project might be interested in building and putting up some bat houses around the neighborhood. Who do I contact to offer this up? Is this even a viable project?
2 AnswersOther - Education9 years agoMy dryer is squeaky but still drying clothes fine...is there something I can do to fix it?
I know the vents are fine, as we just had them cleaned, and the noise was there before the vents were cleaned. But the dryer is really loud and squeaky, is there something we can do to fix it? Or are we destined to call a repairman or replace it?
Thanks for you help!
6 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs10 years agoDog bite question...go to a doctor?
Last night a friend's dog jumped up and, with his fang tooth, punctured me above my eye, but below my eyebrow. Today it is still sore and a bit swollen. We did clean it out with soap and water and applied ice immediately after. But should I go to a doctor or wait and see? The dog is UTD with shots and everything, and it wasn't malicious by any means.

1 AnswerDogs10 years agoPeach Jam or Peach/Berry jam?
Someone gave me a bunch of peaches that are perfect for making jam, since I can't eat them fast enough. But I have never made peach jam, or had it. Is peach jam good or should I make peach/berry jam? I have strawberries or raspberries I can add in.
What do you all recommend?
4 AnswersCooking & Recipes10 years agoDishwasher installer damaged undersink...what to do?
We had a new dishwasher installed, then I noticed afterward that there was a major leak under the sink, causing damage to the ceiling the floor below ($2000 worth). The water isn't coming from the dishwasher itselft, but rather the water on/off valves.
Can I go after the installer for damage recovery? Does a warranty cover not only what they installed, but the mechanisms they had to touch in order to install it?
Please help!
Thanks!
5 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs10 years agoWhat color bedspread?
Our room has 3 walls a fall orange-brown and the accent wall is a rich brown. The furniture is a dark wood/cherry, traditional style. I am having trouble finding a dark color bedspread I like, could I go with a white?
Also, we don't really like the patterned/flowery styles.

1 AnswerInfectious Diseases1 decade agoDo you think it would be strange to have to walk through a walk-in closet to get to the master bathroom?
My husband and I are redoing our master bath and thinking of putting in a walk-in closet. But the best floor plan I see would have us walk into the closet and then into the bathroom.
Is that strange?
15 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoShould I go to the doctor for food poisoning?
So I am pretty confident I have food poisoning - diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, headache, chills, weakness, and not sure about the fever yet (my husband went to go buy a thermometer because ours is AWOL).
I can't seem to keep anything down - chicken broth or clear liquids. It's only been today, but should I call the doctor and go in anyway? I work with medically fragile children and don't want to put them in danger if this isn't food poisoning.
Any advice?
