I am going to be flying into Shannon airport from NYC and have discovered to my horror that there is a 13 hour wait til my connecting flight!!

I have read there is free Wifi, great - but does anybody know if there is anywhere to plug a laptop in or charge a mobile phone ??

I live in a terraced house in the UK on the flat above ground level, with one more property above me. My house and the one beneath have bay windows, but the top flat does not, so I have a bit of roof sticking out where the bay window is.

There appears from upstairs to be a hole in the guttering, but I dont know if that is where the water is leaking in from. Its coming from there somewhere, and travelling through my ceiling somehow, and it is escaping through the gap in the light fixture in the middle of the room about 7ft away from the leak

The roofer is not coming to fix it until monday, so since yesterday I have had a large plastic tub under the light fitting which has collected so far about 20 liters of water and is still dripping now. Of course the fuse for my lighting is turned off and I wont use the lighting until I know it is safe to do so. The power sockets are on a different fuse and circuit so at least I have that!

Now the question:

It is about the structure of the ceiling, because that water will have made things damp inside the ceilings. What potential problems could this cause? The roofer who came to have a quick, and I mean quick look this morning, did not see the evidence of the leaking, and said he would be round later to get a better look and to fix the problem, but the rain stopped him returning today . He has told my landlady that there wont be a problem with the internal building, but he carried out no checks at all on it, or looked at the roof.. I thought he would at least check it with a Thermal imaging camera

I just dont want the Landlady taking the advice of this guy who hasnt even checked but has told her it will be fine. the Landlady lives at least 200 miles from me, so its not easy for her to look into it.

Obviously the greatest worry is the structure and whether there is a risk of collapse but what other risks could come from the damp that has got to be in between the ceiling and upstairs' floor? things like Mould, or infestations, or other problems I may not know about because I am not a professional Please do mention if you are a professional in this field in your reply

Everytime I start my computer I have to open my Ralink wireless software called RAul, and type in my network key each time. How can I get it to remember it each time? I am using a PC with windows XP, and a ralink wireless LAN card

It used to be all set up before I formatted my computer, and I cant seem to get it to work at all using windows wirelss network connection

Im worried about the health of 2 people that I care about. They both smoke around 20-30 cigarettes a day and they both suffer from athsma.

The lady smoker has quite severe athsma and whenever she lights up, she starts coughing and wheezing, and bringing stuff up.

I keep saying to them that it isnt a good idea to be smoking when your athsmatic but they keep saying that it is a good thing- that 95% of athsma suffers smoke because it makes them cough, and coughing brings up the gunge in their lungs.

Are they right??

It seems to me that smoking is the cause rather than the cure of her athsma attacks.

I didn't grow up with him (I was adopted) but we reunited again last year. At the moment I am living with him whilst I wait for my new flat to become vacant.

He smokes and all his friends smoke as well, and they usually smoke in the living room. There are no other rooms in the house I can go to sit or entertain myself, as my computer is in the living room and I sleep in here at night.

When I moved in he said it wasn't a problem for him to smoke in his bedroom, or outside, but now he keeps throwing it at me that he cant smoke in here, and he pays all the bills and its his house.

Smoke really affects me - I can't breathe very well through it because it gives me a sore nose and throat, and I am a singer. I am worried about my singing voice, and my health from breathing in the 2nd hand smoke It makes me cough.

Am I being unreasonable for asking him to smoke elsewhere in his house?

My hamsters cage has a part which pulls out on the upper floor and she used the hole and was on the way outside the cage inside the hole between the bars, and I pulled the plastic part back instead of forward and she was squashed tight in her middle for about 5 seconds before I managed to free her... Will she be OK, what should I do?

I'd really like to watch it again...

I only remember a part in it- but basically the children are in this room with a wooden floor and a sofa, and they take thing that make them all become about 6 inches tall.. they end up going in the garden which has now become a jungle, and their dad starts mowing the lawn before they realize the children are missing.. hmmmm ?

Hi - i would like more information about my sight, as I am unsure as to how bad my eyes are compared to perfect sight

A little background information- I was born with a turned in eye, and wore glasses from the age of 3 months - I have worn them permenantly ever since (except to bed of course!)

To my knowledge they didnt use eye patches or anything to correct my eye, but wearing glasses apparently corrected it a lot more than it was to start with

I am not able to drive due to my eyesight, here in the UK - the measured required distance to read a UK License plate is 20.5 meters, and I couldn't even get close to it

The opticians have always said there is nothing else they can do for my sight except give me glasses.

I have been diagnosed with amblyopia, which I understand to be lazy eye, that thing with my turned in eye

Left eye

sphere -0.25 cyl: +2.25 axis: 85 prism 12.5 base: Out

I go to start Windows Media player, it loads fine, but when i try to play a track it says 'Windows media player is not installed properly. Please reinstall the player/'

I did this- reinstalled it, and had exactly the same problem.

So thought OK lets uninstall whats here and start over. - I go to uninstall it, and guess what - a file that is necessary to uninstall it is missing...

Ive tried reinstalling a couple more times but I am still having this issue.

I originally upladed some videos to YouTube and they came out excellently...

But then YouTube changed.. instead of just having a HQ button they have options there to change the numbers (ie 360p, 480p) But the problem, is.. Now my videos I uploaded are not displaying in HQ at all and the highest drop down number is 480p, but before YouTube changed, the video was far better quality and they were crystal clear.

Help! what's wrong?? Can I fix this in any way?

My Statue of Liberty replica has always been in need of a coat of paint but I've never done it because II don't know what kind of paint they used on her in the 1st place

It has been applied with a brush, and it is very smooth paint, not really shiny like gloss, and not matt either. It is also a waterproof paint as I know before I got her, she spent a while outside.

The gold paint is different from the green paint and that is alot shinier stuff.. I am ooking for the type of paint the green paint is. Any ideas??

I regularly dress up as the Statue of Liberty - and I would like some tips on what materials I could use to make an accurate looking head dress- to include the hair, and the crown of Miss Liberty?

I had thought of using a mop / ball of string to make the hair with and somehow dye the string, or paint it once it is attached

It needs to be something that isnt too heavy for wearing on the head

Preferably waterproof.. what type of paint to use for this?

And it also needs to be sturdy, and fit for regular use

Any ideas?

are the pruduct makers aware that they are breaking the US flag code and how would they feel if their flag was printed on a packet that would most likely end up on a landfill site?

do i show the same respect to a flag printed on a food packet as i do the material flag?

i am attracted to humans too - men and women but it is increased immensy if he or she has an american flag. flag bikinis/ boxers dont count- it has to be a real flag.

i just wanted peoples opinions on this or if youve experianced anything like this with flags

i am English and live in England and also collect American patriotic music and overall fascinated about the USA and would like to live there. my favorite song is the Star Spangled Banner.
