I know all that stuff about talking to the neighbors... can't do that because if they don't do anything about it and I have to call the cops, they will know it was me that called them in...

Hi. I am just wondering what you think about two people who are totally different from each other getting together.

I mean it is not so much whether or not they should get together, I am mostly wondering how you handle your differences and make it work.

Bottom line, I am with a man who I absolutely love, but we have *totally* different ways of doing almost everything. I am trying to ge some ideas of how other people addressed this type of situation and were able to make it work.

Just for the record, we are NOT teenagers. We are adults in our 30's and truly love each other, but are having a bit of trouble figuring out how to deal with our differences, being that we are older and both so set in our ways.

We want to get along and make it work, but are afraid we will drive each other away before our relationship has time to grow and be strong enough to withstand our problems.

Any advice or stories of how you did it would be much appreciated. Some real life examples are exactly what I am looking for.

If you think that no one should have to change anything about themselves or the way they do things, how can the relationship work unless everything about them and the way they do things is exactly like the other persons?

I just don't understand how you can NOT have to change something about the way you are or the way you do things in order to make things work.

I am not necessarily saying that you have to become a totally different person, but I would think that some kind of changes would have to be made.

If you just say you stay just the way you are and I will stay just the way I am...why get together? If you are going to do everything your own way, how is there supposed to be any union?

I mean I totally think that a person should maintain their individuality, etc., but how is it possible to stay *exactly* the same you when you get into a relationship?

Please give me some examples of situations you know of or something. I am getting seriously desparate for some kind of reasoning here. I simply don't understand it.

Basically I have someone telling me that they will do things their way and I should do my things my way and we will meet in the middle. How do you meet in the middle when you are doing completely opposite things????

Just curious about this issue. It has come to mind lately because I know of a boy in that situation and although he isn't specifically denying that it is his, he doesn't think he needs to do anything about it and refuses to go to work and make any money.

I mean I know eventually he will be an adult and be held responsible for his own actions, but I just wonder if they can make the parents pay.

Just for the record, I don't think they should make the parents pay. It was not their choice to behave in that manner and they should not have to pay the consequences. I am not sure what the answer is, but I think there should be some way found to make the boy have to be responsible for his actions.

I am not saying the girl isn't at fault here too...just that they both need to be responsible for their choices.

We are trying to make a recording of something that we want to send to someone...done in our own voices, but we need a way to record long lengths of time.

How can this be done? When we use Windows sound recorder it will only allow 1 minute...

We need to do at least like 30 or more minutes.

Okay, so I am trying to figure out how to "get rid" of someone that we don't care to have in our lives anymore. I hate to use that term, but it is the only way I can think to say it.

So there is this woman that my boyfriend knew before he met me. He never really liked her, but is too nice to tell her that he really doesn't want to talk to her anymore (or ever for that matter). She texts him and emails him all the time and it drives him nuts...but he doesn't want to hurt her feelings.

Now she's trying to become MY friend too!! She was like why can't we all be friends?

I have no interest in becoming friends with her and he has no interest in remaining friends with her. What can we do other than blatantly tell her to get lost? I really don't want to be rude or hurt her feelings, but I am not comfortable with a lot of the things she sends him either. I just want her to move along and bug someone else.

Oh, and her kids are horrible. But he can't bring himself to tell her to go away when she comes over. It really bothers me because I believe it is our right to not have who we don't want in our house or in our lives, but I don't know how to get rid of her.

Hi...so here's the thing. I received a nice gift basket during the holidays and it had a package of caramel corn in it that was made with honey. The flavor was so...WOW...like I had never tasted on caramel corn before.

I would like to try to make something similar and am a pretty good cook, but just don't really know where to start as far as making up a recipe for that.

Does anyone have this recipe? I would so appreciate a starting point (as I usually twist and turn a recipe until it is what I want, but a starting point is essential).

So here's the thing...I have two friends who are getting married - to each other. They are both really close and great friends of mine.

Well, they have both been married before and pretty much have all the stuff that you normally give people for weddings - basically, they don't really need anything specific, especially not household items.

So the question is, what are some ideas on things I could give them or make for them or whatever? I want it to be memorable and nice, but not so cliche as kitchen towels.

FYI, I am not interested in getting them a gift certificate, because I want it to somehow reflect my style and thoughts toward them, but just not be the standard toaster or crock pot.

Any great ideas? Thank you I appreciate any help you can give me on this.

Oh, and I don't have a ton of money either, but can spend some, but not real expensive?? lol

Hello everyone! I am just looking for some nice ideas of things I can do to make my man feel special and loved. I mean I know the general stuff like affection and little notes and stuff like that, but I am looking for some creative ideas...something fun and surprising.

He is always doing nice things for me, but a lot of them involve money and I don't have much of that. I want some creative ideas of things I can do that don't cost much.

Just to be clear, he already *knows* I love him. I treat him nice and tell him all the time. I just want to think of some new ideas for little surprises to make him feel special.

Okay, so I am just worried because my stepson and his father are constantly either ignoring each other or at each other's throats. Of course the son is wonderful if he wants something, but other than that, he treats his father like crap.

He refuses to get a job and pay his fines and doesn't realize what a mess it is going to be when he turns 18.

He refuses to do anything to help around the house like dishes and garbage. Like that is even so freaking hard or something. We don't ask much of him, but he won't even do the simple things we ask.

My main concern is the bad relationship between him and his father and he doesn't realize that this is the best time of his life to spend time with his dad.

He thinks his dad is so mean, when all he ever really does is be kind to him and give him everything he wants and provides everything for him. He can't see how lucky he is to have someone who loves him and takes care of him and I am afraid they are going to get in a really, really bad fight and ruin what is left of their relationship.

What can I do? How can I help this boy see reality. He thinks it is the end of the world if he has to do something and we don't even expect much. What will he do when he gets out on his own???

Sorry this is kind of long and rambling. I just don't know what to do to help.

I've been checking all over at local distributors and everywhere and I have been unable to find a source for blackstrap molasses.

Im looking for the thickest, darkest, heaviest kind available. I've been assigned to find this for someone else, as the last batch they got was not satisfactory. It was of a lower grade than they were accustomed to and they are desperate to get more of the 'proper' kind.

For those of you who don't know, blackstrap is the first processing of the sugar cane and it is BLACK. Not brown, not amber, but black. It is WAY darker and thicker than "Grandma's Molasses" like you get at the grocery store. It is a HIGHLY nutritional substance...although very strongly flavored. In this case, mostly used for baking.

But obviously, if you don't already know what it is, then you will probably not know of a good source.

So I recently found a box that had 3 pillows in it. I took them out and they smell really 'stuffy' or 'stale'.

I took them outside and hung them on the line for a whole week to air out and when I brought them in they seem to still smell the same.

One has regular stuffing, so I might be able to wash it in the washer, but the other two are feather and I just don't know how to fix this problem.

Any great ideas??

I have to go over and help a friend delete some files from their computer. They have sold it to someone else and there are just a handful of things that they don't want on there when the other person takes it.

Things like some business proposals and stuff like that.

What I need to know is, how do I completely delete these things. First I am going to save them onto a travel drive so we can bring them back up on another computer.

But what I don't know how to do it to make sure it is really gone off of the computer when I delete it. I know a lot of times when I thought I had deleted something, it turned out to just be sitting right there in the recycle bin!

How do I COMPLETELY get rid of this stuff so that these other people cannot get into it and steal his business plan?

So my friend asked me to find this coupon for him and I have no idea what he is talking about. Don't even know where to look.

Supposedly, there is a coupon to help you afford to get this adaptor so your TV can receive digital signal because they are changing everything to digital??? Or something to that effect...

So any help you can give in figuring this out would be wonderful. I personally do not watch TV so I know nothing about this whole thing...my friend just doesn't have internet access, so I am stuck finding it for him.
