Paris Traveler
Hello! I live in the USA and I love Paris and traveling. I have been to 11 foreign countries and 41 US states and plan to see all 50. I really enjoy friendships and helping others when I can. Married for 33 years, we love to travel to new places. Our last trip was to England where our son got married. I ride a motorcycle and spend weekends at the lake in my sailboat for fun, love music, play the drums, and I am full of useless information on many subjects. :-)
Fire at Place Vendome car park?
We're getting news reports about a big fire in the parking lot at Place Vendome. Anybody have any information about damage? It looks like it's right near the Ritz!

I took the attached photo of these 4 random guys in Boston at Quincy Market. It was taken on 1/24/05 and every time I come across it I wonder if they would like a copy. They were just goofing around in this store when we walked in and I just took their picture because it was funny and they were having such a good time.
Does anybody out there recognize any of them? It would be cool to find them!!

On my sailboat, the motor runs fine in neutral, revs up, has good rpms etc. But when I put it in forward, it just won't run above a very slow speed and even when I try to rev it the motor just won't respond. Have any idea why it runs fine in netural but not when in gear?

I heard there were huge crowds and a big parade on the Champs Elysees and wonder if it was a fun kind of day.....I was dinged about 20 points because I tried to ask this question in French twice. Go figure............how do you get on the French site?

If a number begins with 01 is it in the 1st and if 06 it's in the 6th? Just wondering about that silly (0) 1 before the number. I can't figure out if a local call has 8 , 9 or 10 digits to the number you're calling either!

While on the walking trail I noticed everyone stays right and walkers/joggers coming towards you stay to the left. It made me wonder if in Great Britain they do the opposite--like they drive?
