I sent a package Monday with 4 books, an envelope and a folder. It arrived to the destination with 1 book and the envelope. The box appeared untampered.

How does this happen? I knew the person who sent it at the post office, so it's possible they messed with it. The total weight was recorded when it left, and I called and reported it with USPS.

Is there anything I can do to get my money back and perhaps money to send it over night, since USPS lost it and it is required to be there by then?

I've been thinking about psychological complexes for a long time, and doesn't it seem that the fake exchange of "love" or failure to feel "loved" in the family system actually breeds false expectations, and a continuous exposure to the "ideology" of a perfect family in culture actually causes the psychological complex rather than the act of not being loved? I think its odd that daughters devote their entire lives to pleasing their father through a career or that a son will pick a mate just like his mother even if she mistreats him in the same way his mother once did. I don't understand how the selfish 'family system' could ever be good thing for the whole of society either. In fact, when you look closer at it, its as if we've been brainwashed to think that its okay to have a master male figure and master female figure in our lives that dictate what we do even past the point that we are able to make these decisions for ourselves. And mostly, I see that the family system is quite cruel when one member becomes envious of another, and 'pretends' to love them while subtly undermining them throughout their entire life. Anyone have some advice here?

I really don't understand why I have to pay into a system that obviously doesn't work. I'm sick of being told my whole life that I have to listen to what the government says or else I'm evil. I am mature enough to know right from wrong and I don't need a government to dictate that. If someone were to rob me or something, I wouldn't need the government to 'step in' and give me assistance finding that person. I'm so sick of this stupid system that hands out money to all the wrong people and takes it away from all the wrong people. How can I escape this stupid slave system of tyranny? It's like it is impossible to be a real person in this world if you don't have a job. Family doesn't matter, everyone is a slave who must work. Kids are slaves-to-be in school from 8-3, conforming to what they are told. Nonsense. I' sick of it, I would rather live alone on an island.

What if the stories in the bible were never intended to be taken as they are now? I've read several of them and it seems to me they are more satirical than serious. At least the old testament. It pretty just makes fun of the shortcomings of mankind and how God looks down at them disgraced.

But, it seems the situations like throwing your son into the fire, or putting all the animals in a giant ship seem a bit more like modern comedy than anything else. How can religious people take such ideas as truths? Its pretty powerful narrative, nonetheless.

What are the usual events in sequence leading up to the unveiling of corruption in government, and how do things pan out for the people in the aftermath? Any historic references would be useful, thanks.

Is there a humanities approach to judging when humans gained consciousness? Any information on the subject is welcome. If such a time is related to art, burying the dead, or something of the like that would also be helpful.

For anyone whose watched or read the book The Secret, it is about the law of attraction. Jonathan Swift writes in Gulliver's Travels,

"He predicted the same fate to attraction, whereof the present learned are zealous asserters. He said that new systems of nature were but new fashions, which would vary in every age; and even those, who pretend to demonstrate them from mathematical principles, would flourish but at a short period of time, and be out of vogue when that was determined."

The word attraction is italicized, and it just seems to me he is talking about the same law of attraction that is considered in quantum physics.

The United States was founded on idealism. Ron Paul only reinforces the ideals this country was founded upon. Do you think all men or rather, people were 'equal' when Thomas Jefferson wrote those lines? No. But, this idea inspired generations later to make an intellegible change. Thomas Jefferson knew and frequently stated in order to escape corruption, revolution is inevitable. A renewing of the most current values and moral standards. Ron Paul is obviously a real person. Not a cold hearted robot with a corporate agenda.

The diversity of this country allows only a President who has the ability to see the matters from all perspectives. A country is made of people, not money. So, wouldn't you want to vote for a President who cares for the people of all walks of life and has a vision of an ideal American society?

I swear my entire life my mother has never given a **** about anything that comes out of my mouth except when I'm talking about her. I told her I'm graduating soon and taking the GRE to go to grad school over the phone, and she has nothing at all to say and ends this topic as soon as possible only to start talking about her new hobbies and terrible job. I'm so sick of this and want to tell her how selfish she is, but she's so selfish it probably wouldn't make a difference.

Seriously I could fly to the moon and I doubt it would phase her.

I changed my address a month ago (signed up to get my mail forwarded through the usps) and I have recieved 1 letter that has been forwarded. BUT there are important things that I know have been sent to me and I haven't received them. When I call each post office they take down my name and number and then never call me back. I don't understand what to do when it is your personal mail that is very important and no one will tell you how to get it.

I also had 2 packages sent to the new address and one ended up in the apartment office (it was there for 2 weeks because no one told me) and the other (which I ordered Jan 25) still hasn't made it. I have no tracking number for it, too. So its not like I could find out even if I wanted to.

A friend of mine was stationed in Japan, and I agreed to temporarily watch her dog. I already have a dog and a cat and my husband is also in the Navy. When they got there they found out they can't bring their dog. No family member is able to take the dog, and they will be gone for 3 years. I can't handle having 3 animals, and I feel guilty but I just can't keep their dog. We are moving into base housing soon and I am only allowed one dog. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I can't afford her anymore. She has had so many issues lately that I just don't have the money to keep up with her. We went through every flea treatment imaginable and she still has fleas. I feel awful, but if I have her and can't take care of her what is the point? She could be in such a better home. She is a sweet, full bred pembroke welsh corgi. And sadly she has been vomiting lately and needs to go to the vet. When I take her, I won't have any money left. I don't know what to do. Help me.

My dog has fleas and I live in an apartment and I think she got them from outside in the pine bark mulch where she goes to the bathroom. (I noticed them 2 days after they put the mulch there)

I thoroughly cleaned/vaccumed/powdered carpets/washed bedding

I bathed her then applied Frontline Plus... a week later they were back

I bathed her then applied Vectra 3D (vets orders)... a week later she still has them!

I bathed her... and a day later she still has fleas!

I used Advantage on my cats and every once and a while I will see one or two on them, but that's it. My dog keeps getting infested! HELP ME!

I got a parking ticket for "front of or upon wheelchair access portion of curb" But my car is clearly not blocking it and I took pictures. The ticket is for 421 DOLLARS!!!!! I don't understand why this ticket was issued. Please help me. I posted pictures...

I used Advantage on my two cats and they have no fleas but I used Frontline Plus on my dog and she still has fleas. I don't get it. If they were bad in my house wouldn't they be on my cats, too? Even if they are treated they would still be biting them but then die. Either they are coming from the pine bark mulch outside, or Frontline Plus doesn't work. Help please!

Or does it have to be niko niko? What does it mean? Wouldn't it also mean a pair?

My husband is a nuke and I was jw if there was any possibility we could one day go to Japan. He's in San D right now.

He knew we had a dog, and when we left it home for a week (he volunteered to watch the dog) it peed on an ottoman and also chewed up a pen which he left on the floor and the ink stained the ottoman. This type of thing doesn't happen when we are home. Plus the ottoman is broke to begin with.

My dog is a year old corgi and she chews up mostly paper items anywhere in reach. She has chewed up plastic before. But recently the things she gets a hold of cost money. She chewed up this incense/potpourri and it made her sick for two days, and I just woke up to find my husbands glasses chewed up today. I don't know how she gets half the stuff she chews up because I make sure things are out of reach. Does anyone have any suggestions.
