  • Jehovah's Witnesses ?

I proceeded to say: “O my God,

    Do not take me off at the half of my days;

Your years are throughout all generations.

Long ago you laid the foundations of the earth itself,

And the heavens are the work of your hands.

    They themselves will perish, but you yourself will keep standing;

And just like a garment they will all of them wear out.

Just like clothing you will replace them, and they will finish their turn.

But you are the same, and your own years will not be completed.

    ~ Psalm 102:24-27 NWT

But with reference to the Son: ...

And: “You at [the] beginning, O Lord, laid the foundations of the earth itself, and the heavens are [the] works of your hands. They themselves will perish, but you yourself are to remain continually; and just like an outer garment they will all grow old, and you will wrap them up just as a cloak, as an outer garment; and they will be changed, but you are the same, and your years will never run out.”

    ~ Hebrews 1:8, 10-12 NWT

Why does it reference Jesus as Jehovah? What is your interpretation of these passages?

  • Why do Jehovah's Witnesses think they can have eternal life without being Born Again?

The Bible says we do not belong to Christ unless we are born of the Spirit.

    Romans 8:8-9

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

  • Why do Jehovah's Witnesses refuse to partake in the Memorial supper?

    John 6: 53-56

53Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

54Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

55For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

56He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.

  • Do Jehovah's Witnesses live for Jesus?

    2 Cor 5:15

And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

  • What proof do Jehovah's Witnesses have that the Governing Body is anointed by God?

Why do you choose to follow a group of men's rules?

    1 John 2:27

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

  • Jehovah's Witnesses : Please explain...?

Why do you assume that when people no longer agree with your organization, that they are "turning their back on Jehovah"?

The reason I ask is that you are making it sound like the organization is Jehovah Himself, or that you are putting the organization on the same level as He is... and since you continue to tell us that the organization never claimed to be a prophet or the mouthpiece of God, then really ...

How exactly can this be "turning their back on Jehovah"?

And further... how come you don't accuse the writers of turning their back on Jehovah when they no longer agree with things and change the point of view?

Why is this considered new light then?

Are changes in opinion from within the organization considered to be from God?

But I thought the organization is not a prophet or the mouth of God?

I am not sure if you realize how contradictory this all looks from the outside... can you please explain the role of the organization and why disagreeing with it is turning against Jehovah in light of them disagreeing with themselves sometimes???

  • Question for JWs about being Born Again?

How can you possibly read this scripture

    Romans 8:8-9

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

and then come to the conclusion that you can belong to Christ and please God without being born of the Spirit?

Is the following article adding to scripture? I cannot find scriptural support for pleasing God without His Spirit anywhere...

  • Why do Jehovah's Witnesses think someone must deserve grace/ undeserved kindness?

A quote from one of their articles (they use the words undeserved kindness in lieu of grace):

"We want to give deserving ones the opportunity to learn of Jehovah’s undeserved kindness and the Kingdom hope", Sow Bountifully but With Discernment, The Kingdom Ministry, December 1993 issue

How in the world can it make sense to deserve undeserved kindness?

Do Jehovah's Witnesses have the correct understanding of God's grace?

  • Why do Jehovah's Witnesses continually say that heaven is not paradise, when the Bible says exactly that?

    from NWT

    2 Cor 12: 2-4

2 I know a man in union with Christ who, fourteen years ago—whether in the body I do not know, or out of the body I do not know; God knows—was caught away as such to the third heaven. 3 Yes, I know such a man—whether in the body or apart from the body, I do not know, God knows— 4 that he was caught away into paradise and heard unutterable words which it is not lawful for a man to speak.

(Not to mention, Paul talks about being both in the body and out of the body??)

  • Jehovah's Witnesses : How can Jesus be neither true God nor false god?

    Jer 10:10-13

But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation. Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens. He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion. When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.

The above verses make it abundantly clear that the true God is the Creator... and any "god" that is NOT the Creator shall perish.

Doesn't the Creator, aka the one true God include the Father, Son, Holy Spirit?

The Father is Creator (Isaiah 64:8, 44:24), the Son is Creator (John 1:3; Hebrews 1:10;Colossians 1:15-17), the Holy Spirit is Creator (Job 33:4, 26:13).

  • Born Again Christians.....?

When Jehovah's Witnesses knock on your door.... do you tell them the true gospel/ plant seeds before sending them away?

JWs do not believe that these verses apply to them:

    John 3:6,7

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit ... Ye must be born again.

    Rom 8:8-9

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

We don't really have LDS around here knocking, but I know some places do... are you planting seeds/ sharing the gospel with them too?

  • Jehovah's Witnesses are we a Temple of God? Or of God, an angel, and an active force?

    John 14:16-17,26

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

    John 14:23

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

    1 Cor 3:16

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

    2 Cor 6:16

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

    Romans 8:9-10

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

    Galatians 4:6

And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

    Ephesians 3:17

That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith.

    1 John 4: 15-16

Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

    Ephesians 3:19

And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

So if we are a temple of GOD, and the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are all in us… what does that tell you? Are we the temple of an active force and an angel?

  • Jehovah's Witnesses: Do you teach that having the Holy Spirit is different from being Born Again?

I have seen several JW answers that talk about "having" the Holy Spirit, or the Holy Spirit was "with" them... but these same people do not believe they are born of the Spirit.

  • Can someone please explain the Oneness doctrine to me?

I am trying to understand how those who believe in the Oneness doctrine explain the times when the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit interact with one another?

I am under the impression that the Oneness doctrine calls for modes of God, meaning that He is not more than one at a time, in contrast to the Trinity where we view the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as simultaneously existing as one God.

How does the Oneness doctrine account for things like Jesus' Baptism, or when Jesus talks to the Father, etc.?

    Thanks.

  • Jehovah's Witnesses - Has Jesus been on Jehovah's throne since 1914?

I saw a JW mention this in a different question - and I am not even trying to get into the 1914 doctrine.... nor am I picking on you... I have a serious question... what I am wondering is

1)if you believe Jesus is on Jehovah's throne right now.... where is Jehovah? Is there some other throne? The Bible only mentions one throne.

    and

    2) According to your beliefs, Jesus is a created being, if this is so, he needs to worship his creator ... when does he get down off the throne and worship Jehovah?

  • Jehovah's Witnesses: Another question re: Abraham's seed?

I just received answers to this question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ArpyG...

and it brings to mind another question...

How is it that there can ONLY be 144,001 (including Jesus) in the seed of Abraham if God specifically said that this amount could not be numbered by man?

    Genesis 13:15,16

For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.

    Genesis 15:5

And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.

    Genesis 17:7

And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

    Galatians 3:29

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

    Revelation 7:9

    After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

I don't see a limit to the number in Abraham's seed? Are there only 144,001 grains of sand, and 144,001 stars in the sky?
