Jehovah's Witnesses: Did Jesus ever call His Father by name?
I don't believe He did.
I do believe He called Him "Father"....
Q&A ... God is my Father... so why would I call Him by a name other than Father? However, my point for this question is did JESUS ever call Him by name?
Ginosko... Did Jesus ever call His Father by this name?
Many of you are saying that Jesus made Jehovah's name known.... but what you are missing is that He made the name known thru HIS own name and person. The people knew His name means YHWH saves.

It is interesting to see the number of people who have said yes but none of them were able to give chapter and verse for even one time. Donna even joked about it saying she can't imagine Jesus saying, "hey dad" but that is exactly what we have the right to do if we are truly His child.
Romans 8:15
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
I have seen some "double speak" answers here...some saying that Jesus would not have used His Fathers name but than they say He manifested His name (without ever using it) If a child has a good relationship with his father, he does not call him "father" or by his name....he calls him "daddy" as we see we can do from the verse above.
In Matt 4:10 the Greek word “Kurion” meaning “Lord” is mistranslated as “Jehovah.” in the NWT
Ginosko9 said: "So just what NAME did Jesus make known. Please save it if you're going to tell me that LORD, GOD, and stuff like that are a personal names CAUSE THEY AIN'T. They are TITLES. " but was unable to show one verse where "Jehovah was used. Even more revealing is Ginosko' statement "I don't care it the septuagint does not have the divine name because the text that Jesus quotes in Isaiah HAS IT in the ORIGINAL hebrew text! IT'S THERE! And you will never convince me ......
In short....do not confuse me with truth, my mind is already made up because the WT told me it was truth. (even though they tell their people it is OK for them to lie to us)
bar_enos... Jesus manifested God's name in HIMSELF! John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth (remember Jehovah will not share His glory with anyone)
Philippians 2 and Colossians 1 also shows that Jesus is the exact image of the Father and in Zechariah 14:9 states " And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one" Jesus fills this verse exactly.
The WT states that GOD's name is Jehovah but that is just part of it. This is just a partial list:
JEHOVAH-ROHI......Psalm 23:1 meaning "The Lord my shepherd"
JEHOVAH-SHAMMAH.......Ezekiel 48:35 meaning "The Lord who is present"
JEHOVAH-RAPHA.........Exodus 15:26 meaning "The Lord our healer"
JEHOVAH-TSIDKENU......Jeremiah 23:6 meaning "The Lord our righteousness"
JEHOVAH-JIREH.........Genesis 22:13-14 meaning "The Lord will provide"
JEHOVAH-NISSI.........Exodus 17:15 meaning "The Lord our banner"
JEHOVAH-SHALOM........Judges 6:24 meaning "The Lord is peace"
JEHOVAH-SABBAOTH......Isaiah 6:1-3 meaning "The Lord of Hosts"
Each of these names are fully revealed in the person of Jesus Christ.

From the KJV
John 17:25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.
John 17:26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
So whether Jesus is quoted in the gospels as saying Jehovah (or however it was pronounced in ancient Hebrew) Jesus said that he made the Father's name known. You can't make a name known if you don't use it.
Doesn't that kinda make you wonder why people who claim to follow Jesus and serve God don't use Jehovah's name as Jesus said he did?

JW loves quoting the Lord s prayer to indicate that God s name is to be made known but that s missing the elephant in the room. The prayer starts with, "Our Father..." and not "Jehovah, who art in heaven". If the son address God as Father, we being adopted sons and daughters ought to do the same. On the other had, Jesus is our friend and friends address each other by name.
I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. John 15:15
Even in this verse, he address God as Father.
If Jehovah is the correct name of God, then, you will need to prove that this name was used since the time of Abraham or earlier. The name Jehovah only came into use by "accident" in the 13th century and cast doubts that this is the right name. If you insist to use God s name, then the correct thing to do is to use the tetragrammaton - YHWH or in English "I am" or "I am who am".

Is Father a name? Is Son a name? Is Holy Ghost a name? Every time the Bible records the name or formula associated with an actual baptism in the New Testament church, it describes the name Jesus. "They were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus" (Acts 8:16). "And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord" (Acts 10:48). "They were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus" (Acts 19:5). Matthew 28:19 was a command by Jesus to baptize in the NAME. The Apostles did not repeat the word of the command, but they did obey it as seen in the scriptures above. Since Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are titles of the manifestations of the Almighty Spirit and His body, the Apostles understood His SAVING NAME to be JESUS. Can any dare say that the Apostles disobeyed the Lord, or failed to baptize properly? THE NAME OF THE FATHER, SON, AND HOLY GHOST IS LORD JESUS CHRIST. The actions of the Apostles in the Book of Acts prove this to be true. Should anyone dare to change what CHRIST and the Apostles established?(See Galatians 1:8-9) God bless! No, the Bible never once said Jesus called His Father by His Name. To point to the flawed answers made by some JWs of the Org here, we can say to a person who is not our brother or sister who the name of our human father is, but we must never disrespectfully do the same with our brothers or sisters inside our human families. But, besides this point we must never disrespectfully call our Heavenly Father by His Holy Name whether in our prayers, our songs, or to loosely use it day in to day out in the streets, in people's homes or in congregations. The Bible said we must never take the Holy Name in vain for His Name is infinitely Holier than our parents' names!
I wish the JWs of the Org will look inwards and see what they are doing. They can call up and say something like this to their Dad, "John, how are you feeling today? Can I come over and discuss some things with you, John?" This is what they are doing to the Holy Father, only they arrogantly do it all day long as a habit and show little remorse because they were taught this way! This is not the Way taught by Jesus, but only the way taught by the whims of men in Brooklyn, N.Y.!

yes, he used the name several times. Luke 4:8; Luke 4:18,19; Matthew 22:44; Matthew 21:42; Matthew 5:33 he quoted several old testament prophesies which used the name YHWH clearly clearly referring to God the Father as YHWH whose spirit was upon him (Luke 4:14-Luke). Refer to the hebrew word for LORD in each of these verses quoted from the old testament, you will see the hebrew word for Jehovah is used.

At Acts 15:14, Luke wrote that God would take out of the nations "a people for his name." Wouldn't those people have to know that God has a name?
By the time Jesus was on earth, superstition concerning the pronouncing of God's name was already in full force. And that affected the manuscripts of the NT. So, copies of the NT that include God's name are hard to find. But for Jesus to train his followers to pray saying: "Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name," common sense would dictate that Jesus and his followers knew what that name was. (Matt. 6:9)
Big Guy's reasoning is so funny. He said it would be disrespectful to call God by his name. But, according to him, Jesus is God. Yet, he has no trouble calling him by that name, and not something like "Mr. Jesus." What silly reasoning.
"God is my Father."
Oh? Since when? I thought you said that the trinity was your God. The triune God includes MORE than just the Father, doesn't he? Are you saying the Son and the holy spirit aren't your God too? So, who is YOUR God? The Father? Jesus? Or the trinity?

Bar_enosh and Ginosko already gave very good answers.
I just want to give some comments.
During the Bible times, people freely used God's name, it appeared almost 7,000 times in the OT.
God is a Father for all of us. Those who used His name in the OT (Moses, David, Bible writers, etc) were not viewed as disrespectful.
Similarly, if we will use God's name (though He is our Father) we are not disrepecting him, unless of course if we are using it in worthless things (Exodus 20:7). JWs uses God's name in prayers, worshipping Him, songs of praises, sharing the truth, in Christian meetings. These are not worthless things.
Jehovah is not only a Father to us. He is God Almighty. His name deserves to be known. That is what Jesus did when he was here on earth. (John 17:6)
"That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth." -Psalms 83:18 KJV
"And in that day shall ye say, Give thanks unto Jehovah, call upon his name, declare his doings among the peoples, make mention that his name is exalted." -Isaiah 13:4 ASV

This is so easy, Jesus never used a personal name when he talked about or to God. Witnesses fail to see that.

Yes, Jesus did identified his father by the name of Jehovah. But he never called him that. the same way I would never call my dad or my mom by their names because it would be disrespectful of me. But if you were to ask for my parents name then I could Identify them by their name. Here are some examples from my bible;
(Matthew 4:4) But in reply he said: “It is written, ‘Man must live, not on bread alone, but on every utterance coming forth through Jehovah’s mouth.’”
(Matthew 4:7) Jesus said to him: “Again it is written, ‘You must not put Jehovah your God to the test.’”
(Matthew 4:10) Then Jesus said to him: “Go away, Satan! For it is written, ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’”
(Matthew 5:33) “Again YOU heard that it was said to those of ancient times, ‘You must not swear without performing, but you must pay your vows to Jehovah.’
(Matthew 21:42) Jesus said to them: “Did YOU never read in the Scriptures, ‘The stone that the builders rejected is the one that has become the chief cornerstone. From Jehovah this has come to be, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?
(Matthew 22:37) He said to him: “‘You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.’
(Matthew 22:44) ‘Jehovah said to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies beneath your feet”’?
(Matthew 23:39) For I say to YOU, YOU will by no means see me from henceforth until YOU say, ‘Blessed is he that comes in Jehovah’s
