12 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agohow can I find a family? My natural siblings are horrible and impossible, but I miss having a sister?
I see my friends doing things with their siblings, taking trips, holidays, sharing kids and such and I feel so bad because my own sister is someone you can't stand to be in the same room with and my brother is worse. I'm very lucky in that I have 2 wonderful daughters and 2 beautiful grand children, but it's not the same as having people in your own age group to call family. Any ideas?
1 AnswerFamily1 decade agohave you ever been in a very bad work situation? What is your story?
I have several. I actually had an engineer throw papers at me (like a frisbee, almost cut my eyeball) because I found something on the print he had overlooked! Then, I worked with a big fat lard who would cuss and swear and throw terrible temper tantrums all day long at anyone and everyone. I was in tears several times and was so stressed out that I kept making mistakes.
It's amazing what people get away with at work sometimes (as far as abuse and harassment of other employees or subordinates).
3 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment1 decade agoshould companies be held accountable for the effects of bad work environments?
I've heard that more people die on Monday 9:00 am than at any otherctime because people hate their jobs. I won't vouch for this fact, but I do know that many work environments are negative, stressful, back biting places. Workers are consumed with stress which leads to all sorts of negative social consequences. Drinking, smoking, over eating, car accidents, and an array of other stress induced diseases.
I have personally experienced inhumane conditions, and almost every one I know says the same. Is this a case of companies privatizing the profit and publicizing the costs? Should we, as a society, allow companies to do this to us? Opinions?

1 AnswerWords & Wordplay1 decade agoIs the real reason the rights hate the democrats so much because they are intimidated by intellect? ?
And is the reason they support Bush so much because they can identify with his simplistic thinking and low mentality?
Be honest guys. Don't you feel that Obama is too much of an intellectual elitist and you simply cannot follow his logic, where as McCain/Bush say 'terrorists bad'! and you can relate to that?
27 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy is it that every single GOP Conservative in my state accepts social program $$$ such as unemploymenet ?
after they've lost their jobs to offshoring? If it's so 'wrong' to have a safety net, why do they keeping jumping on that net as soon as they hit a little bump in the road?
I've yet to see one Bush supporting conservative republican turn down an 'entitlement' program and I've seen about 40,000 of them lose their jobs. How is this justified?
6 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoquestion for psychics or spiritualist types (dream interpretation)?
I am studying spiritualism as part of my soul's progression. I dreampt that I was at a picnic table with some 'experts' who I don't know today. We were there to meditate and some friends of mine showed up, uninvited, and created a distraction. They got the hint and left. Then one of the ladies at the table stood up and said she was going to 'exorcise my demons'. I told her I don't believe in the devil and she kept going. Then this lady stoop up behind me and told her 'she said she doesn't want that so STOP IT NOW".
We weren't able to make and progress after that so left. But before I left, I ended up stealing two pair of earrings that were for a church bizaare. They weren't worth much ($0.68 ???), but I felt really really bad, and still do!
Can anyone make any sense out of this (from a spiritual perspective?)

16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoSpeaking of Bush and the economy, do you remember his early 'tax cuts'?
Do you remember how there was exactly $0 tax cut for individuals in his original plan? And all the rest went to corporations and the highest income earners? Remember how congress (particularly the democrats) forced him to 'give something' back to the people who earned it? And remember how Bush only gave peanuts to the working stiff?
Question: How can you republicans continue to support your party when there is such a mountain of evidence that they only want to screw you out of your wages, homes, medical benefits and social security?

2 AnswersOther - United States1 decade agoMuslims, this part of Islam troubles me, can you clarify? ?
I believe the muslim faith requires women to wear headscarves to prevent them from tempting men.
Isn't this sending the message that 1. men are incapable of controlling their own emotions, and 2. women are responsible for the actions of men (even though they have no authority over them).
Please understand that I am very respectful of muslim women, particularly the ones who pursue education and learning and achievements. I believe the west can benefit from the de-sexing ideals of Islam, but I have trouble with this particular practice as it implies that women are inherently sexual objects and men are inflamed lustful beasts.
Can you elaborate?
