At what age can you no longer be considered to have died young?
If you would mention your age, that would be great because the younger you are I imagine the younger your answer will be.
6 AnswersSociology9 years ago"He took thee from a world of care, An everlasting bliss to share." Source?
This epitaph is found on a lot of graves in the American South from the 1800s. Does anyone know what it's from? A hymn or the Bible maybe?
1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf you know someone on Clonazepam/Klonipin, do you notice that it makes them mean?
My spouse takes Clonazepam and on the days she takes it she is very noticeably meaner and more easily provoked than on days she doesn't take it. Has anyone else noticed this with someone they know? I also have a friend that takes it regularly and she tends to be mean too.
1 AnswerMental Health1 decade agoWhy won't the ammonia in the tank go down?
10 gallon tank, one fire belly gourami (2 inch long), 4 live plants. Had 5 cardinal tetras and an oto but the oto died and the ammonia spiked. The rest died except the gourami. Ammonia has been in the 4-8ppm range the past month. I've used Amquel, API AmmoLock, StressZyme, Biozyme all at different points in the last few weeks. Done partial water changes every couple days. Replaced all but an inch of water today, vac'd the gravel really good, and immediately tested with API Ammonia test kit and I've got 4ppm still. I change the carbon filter every 2 weeks, never the little plastic "bio filter". Am I doing too much? Why won't it go down? It was fine before the oto died (didn't find him right away and he decomposed a bit). Help?!
2 AnswersFish1 decade agoIs there a verb that means "to be merciful"?
The only way I can think of to say someone is being merciful is to say exactly that, but merciful is an adjective. Does anyone know of a verb in the English language that means "to be merciful"?
6 AnswersWords & Wordplay1 decade agoLower back cramps after deadlifts?
I lift weights and I do the deadlift, which I especially like, so I don't think my back muscles are weak. In fact, sometimes when I stand in one position for a while, it's like my spinal erectors seize up on me, like they're actually too strong. What could be causing this? Bad posture? Weak abs?
3 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agoWhy would anyone buy (much less offer) and I-series bond with 0% fixed rate?
I was buying them a few years ago when they had a fixed rate above 0 and looked at them today to see the fixed rate is 0%. These are US Treasury bonds. Why would buying one of these be a good idea? I know there's a variable rate so you would be earning some interest.
2 AnswersInvesting1 decade agoIf my company fires me and gives my exact job to someone in a foreign country (because they are cheaper)...?
Isn't that discrimination based on national origin and illegal? The company and I are both located in the United States and I am a citizen. The foreign worker would be working from their country. Does anyone know?
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoWhat's the deal with pig's head?
Yesterday I saw someone on TV say you can't buy a pig's head anymore. They implied there was a reason we should be familiar with why you can't buy one anymore, like it was illegal or something. Then today I saw a guy in a restaurant (on TV again) de-boning a pig's head to make something to serve in his restaurant. Now, I have no desire for pig's head, I'm just curious why buying a pig's head would be prohibited, and curious to know if it is actually prohibited. Does anyone know?
5 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoMy dog is scared of virtually every noise, help!?
I have an 8 year old female black Lab named Fisher who over the last couple of years has become very afraid of all clicking. If you cluck your tongue she leaves the room. She will no longer come into the kitchen because all the sounds there scare her. The computer now scares her when it dings. She was never clicker trained and I don't know what could have started this. She's starting to fear the house in general because of all the noises there. Anyone have this experience or know what I can do?
2 AnswersDogs1 decade agoWhat does "cuillere a cafe bombee" mean?

4 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoAbraham was Jewish, but not halachically, right?
Or is Moses considered the first Jew? The first Jew couldn't have been born of a Jewish mother so he would have been a convert in a sense. Right?
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat is the Catholic Church's current stance on Latin?
I don't think most masses are conducted in Latin anymore. Does the Catholic Church still prefer Latin to other languages for religious purposes? Does it encourage or educate its members to learn or at least understand Latin? Is it considered better to pray in Latin or does it not matter? I'm just curious because languages are a hobby of mine.
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoFor people who know something about Talmud...?
I have my own copies of Artscroll translations of the Babylonian Talmud. Is it okay to highlight in the English translation and footnotes and to write brief notes for my own benefit? It would make study a lot easier but it feels like marking up a holy book. What do you think? Is there a law on this?
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIs it cruel to put my frog's crickets where he can see them but not get them?
He's fed, so he's not hungry. I thought this might be entertainment for him, or is it just a tease? Please give me your thoughts. Once he fell asleep with his face pressed against the glass when I accidentally left them where he could see them.

Nothing against him, I just get a Spock vibe when I see him on TV. I wonder if it's just me.
