Why would the son of an all powerful and knowing God choose to appear 2000 years ago in an insignificant, far flung part of the Roman Empire? America, Australia and the Far East were yet to be discovered - and indeed are unacknowledged in the bible (Alexander's Empire, the extent of the "known" world at the time, only reached as far as the borders of India). Why did God handicap the transmission of his message this way?

I thought it explained quite a lot - and at the very least I now know what shape of sex toys to buy if I think my partner is cheating

...straight men in the fashion industry got to dictate the so called "Ideal" body type displayed in the pages of fashion magazines and on the runways?

I know it was neither my brother nor my father, so that leaves only one person.

And if it wasnt him, then these dictates must have been made by the legions of other women and gay men in the industry - the very people who harbor absolutely no interest in the female form.

I suppose then my question really is, why do women strive for (or feel jelous of) a body shape that has no appeal to either themselves, or the members of the opposite sex they are trying to impress?

The Economist is doing a special report in the influence and resurgence of religion in modern life. As they are renowned for their unbiased writing and reporting, could we all please get a copy and read it over the weekend?
