  • My son's father wants visitation in Washington, we live in Texas?

I realize as the father he has every right for it, but I truly do not think it would be healthy for our 5 year old son.

Here are the reasons why I do not approve of this:

    1. My son is Autistic and goes to a special needs school. Uprooting him from a stable environment to live with his father he barely remembers and his parents who are like strangers wouldn't be healthy for his development or mental health.

    2. My son's father is mentally unstable. He is self destructive, self loathing and has tried to kill himself several times. He was mentally and physically abusive to me when we were together, which is why I left him in the first place. When I would come home from work my son would have a soaking wet diaper and I would ask his dad what he fed him for lunch and he would be like "cereal, chips, etc".

    3. My son's father's parents were/are abusive. Th dad has pushed the mom down the stairs, cheated, and beat my son's father with a belt for almost no reason. They are also not supportive of mental/learning disabilities. My son's father told me (he has Autism too) that the whole time he was growing up whenever he tried to do something his parents would beat him down and tell him he wasn't good enough and they never got him help.

    4. He wants him to visit for MONTHS at a time.

I can't have my son around these people, especially unsupervised. Is there any way he could win if I take him to court? What can I do to make my chances better at stopping him from taking my son?

  • Repair my old bike, or buy a new one?

I have a $600 bike that has been sitting in my garage for the last 12-14 years. The tires are completely flat, and I'm sure sitting idle like that didn't keep the metal parts in great condition (I haven't done anything to keep it maintained).

Would it be cheaper to get a bike like this fixed? Or would it be better if I just went out and got a new bike for around $200?

I'm not particularly attached to this bike at all. I just got it from my grandmother years ago, stopped riding it in my teenage years. And now that I'm older I want to ride again.

  • What does this line in "Habanera" from Carmen translate to?

Si je t’aime, prends garde à toi!

I google searched it, and most of the meanings have around the same translation but the words get switched up depending on what website I'm on.

If anyone who really knows French could help, that would be great. Thanks in advance! :)

  • Would I look like an idiot wearing this fanny pack?

I go to a-lot of outdoor festivals and fairs, and bringing a purse is a huge headache. I saw this and fell in love with it. However, I know what people usually think of fanny packs.. so I am somewhat hesitant.

    Opinions?

  • If a person who is allergic to animals lives in a house with MANY animals, can it cause other health problems?

My son and I are pretty allergic to animals. Not horribly so, but we get itchy and our eyes burn and we get a runny nose if exposed to them too much.

Anyway, after a falling out with his father my son and I moved in with my mother a couple months ago until I get some things settled.

The problem is, my mother has 8 cats and 3 dogs.

I know the usual symptoms of allergies, and we get them often. But, I have also noticed that my son and I get sick MUCH more here than when we lived in our old pet-free home.

We get colds often, have a constant (phlegm producing) cough, and he has had strep throat/a fever many times.

Is this just a coincidence? Or could living here be effecting out immune systems?

(PS. No rude and/or sarcastic comments please)

  • What should I do about my boyfriend's friend?

My boyfriend had to move to another state because of work, and ended up having to move in with a friend he knew when he lived there before because the move was sudden and he didn't have the money to live out on his own.

I am going to move up there in March, and we are going to get a place together.

However, I am very concerned about his friend/roommate.

Ever since my boyfriend moved in this guy has been trying to get him to cheat on me and has said and done many things to make us argue and try to break us up.

My boyfriend is constantly denying his offers to hang out, and I can tell his friend is becoming more and more desperate to break us up. Even lying that there was a "hidden camera" in my boyfriends old apartment and a video of him having sex was on a popular pornographic website.

My boyfriend admits that he has to be nice to his friend while he lives there (to an extent), but he also defends him at times saying "he isn't a pig, just a player".

I told him that I don't want this creep coming to the apartment because I don't want someone like that around my son, which he seems fine with. But it seems like this guy will still be a part of my boyfriends life outside of the house, and it makes me nervous.

Is it wrong for me to not want my boyfriend to hang out with this guy? I don't want to be a bitc*y controlling girlfriend. But this guy is a selfish prick and isn't even a good friend to my boyfriend outside of what he does to our relationship. He has even stolen money from my boyfriend, though he doesn't have solid proof.

What do you think I should do?

  • My period is a week early?

Ever since November 5th I have been having strange and persistent PMS like symptoms, even though my last period ended a day or two before October 31st. I am just going to guess that I ovulated around the 5th and that's what the tender breasts, nausea, fatigue, constant hunger, and hot flashes were about.

This week though, starting on November 13th I still have tender breasts (just not as bad), and fatigue, but now I am also having lower back pains and stomach/pelvic cramps. I also had watery milky white discharge.

NOW, today, I am having the cramps pretty bad (not horrible, but still painful) and my discharge has changed to brown spotting with small traces of red blood mixed in. Thing is, I am not due for my period until around the 23rd.

Is it normal to have such a crazy period from out of nowhere, or could something be wrong?

  • Is this Ovulation or PMS?

Ever since the 5th of this month I have been feeling weird.

All last week I was fatigued, hungry all the time, occasionally nauseous, hot flashes, my breasts were very tender and I had some small pelvic cramps.

Now this week I am still pretty hungry, my breasts are tender (but not nearly as much) and now have this itchy tingling feeling, I keep having this pulling/pinching cramping feeling in my pelvic area, and I have watery milky white discharge.

I know I'm not pregnant because I ended my period right before Halloween (like a day or two before) and had sex every other day from November 2nd to the 5th, so the timing isn't right for that.

  • Am I right to be concerned about this?

The guy I'm dating gave his phone number to one of our co-workers because she went on a date with one of his friends and she said she wants to ask him more about him.

However, she says she does not want to talk about it over the phone. She want's to meet up somewhere and talk "in private", which I find highly suspicious.

On top of that, whenever I cross paths with her she gives me a major death glare and I honestly don't know why because I have never talked to her before.. much less done something to make her hate me. I have had people tell me she probably sees me as competition because I lost 30 pounds recently, and I am receiving more attention from guys at work.

I don't know if I am just being paranoid or what, but I think she is trying to sink her teeth into my guy and is using his friend as an excuse to get them alone together.

Worst of all? After she made contact with the guy I'm dating, he now talks about her.. and it's more than I would like.

    Any thoughts?

  • Do you think I'm "rushing" him, or being reasonable?

I have been dating this guy for almost 3 months now, and I am really starting to like him.

However, he says he wants to wait at least a year before we move on to boyfriend/girlfriend. The longest I am willing to wait is 6 months, and I told him this.

I told him that if he can't make up his mind after dating me for 6 months that we just can't date anymore because I obviously want more from this than he does.

At first he was okay with it, a little nervous, but okay. Now though, he is starting to act a little moody when HE brings it up (I don't). And says things like I'm "rushing" things, and that he probably wont have an answer for me by that time.

But, he also calls me all the time just to "check in". Worries about my finances (work is cutting hours right now, and it's hard), and generally treats me just as nice as he ever has.

I don't know. I honestly like him soooo much, but I also don't want to waste over a year of my life on a guy who will probably never commit.

Was it wrong of me to tell him to make up his mind in 6 months or leave me alone?

  • Could I have a UTI/Kidney Infection?

For the last 24 days in a row my body has felt like it's falling apart.

I have been sweating much easier than usual, exhausted all the time, constantly starving but nauseous (nausea is the worst between 10am and Noon), bruising easily, having lower back pains (mostly a persistent pressure, but occasionally sharp pains), having to use the bathroom a lot more, and more recently sore breasts (especially around the nipple) and a pressure in my pelvic area.

My mom told me that it sounds like I have a kidney infection or something, but it could also be a number of other things. At first I thought it was because I just started "the pill", but I was feeling bad a week before I started my pack. Then I thought I was having bad PMS, but my period isn't due until the 19th.

I have a doctors appointment tomorrow, I know no one on here can diagnose me, but I am curious about other people's opinions.

  • Is there any way to get sexual solicitation off of someones record?

Or hidden some way in order for that person to be able to simply rent an apartment?

My friend was drunk one night and came onto an undercover police officer, needless to say it didn't end well.

Anyway, now he is paying for one drunken night for the rest of his life and it really doesn't seem fair that people judge him so severely. There are MANY crimes worse than that.

Anyway, we live in Texas but he was convicted in South Dakota.

  • Is it cheaper to buy an eBay shipping label, or to go to the post office?

I recently sold an item on eBay that weighs about 10 pounds, and I would like to ship it out as cheap as possible. I can either ship it out "Expedited Shipping (USPS Priority Mail®)", or use the label eBay is trying to sell me.

(ps. no rude and/or sarcastic comments please)
