  • Could you do software engineering with a B.S. in Computer Engineering?

Do colleges prepare students for the job of a software engineer with the computer engineering curriculum, or would I need to get a degree in computer science for that?

  • For those who read and know the Bible, I have a few scripture questions?

"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." -Galatians 6:9

Are we being told not to be weary when we are doing well or are we being told to keep following God and not grow weary while we are trying to do well?

There was no damage to the truck whatsoever and I was driving at about 2-4 mph i think pulling into the lot. I really checked to make sure the truck was ok. • Virgin Mobile Phone suddenly won't send texts?

I have a Virgin Mobile Shuttle for about 2 years now, and suddenly today it will not send any texts. They go through on the phone, but no one receives them. Also, it no longer vibrates...could this be related to the messaging problem? Any suggestions?

I've called the company several times to get a machine, and I've turned the phone on and off with battery.

  • Do you think I have a cavity?

My back right molar has a mild pain whenever I chew down on it, and I just recently felt this pain today. It's not an acute pain, but enough to disturb me. So I was wondering, is it usually a cavity when you feel slight pain when chewing on something? I can't really pinpoint the location of the pain on the tooth, I just know it's the first tooth from the back one.

p.s. I'm going to the orthodontist in about 2 or 3 weeks, so I'll wait until then to actually see a dentist.

  • Computer System Requirements?

I have a Compaq SR5152NX AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual core processor 4000+ (2.0ghz). I'd like to upgrade to this processor:

    http://www.overstock.com/Electronics/AMD-Athlon-II...

If the link doesn't work, then I'll say that it is an AMD Athlon II X2 Dual-core 245 2.9GHz Desktop Processor.

I have a 250 Watt power supply, so would I need to upgrade that also?

  • Computer Requirements for gaming?

I'm thinking about getting this laptop to play Empire: Total War. Would it work, and would there be any lag?

Here are the specs in case the link doesn't work:

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 QL-64 2.1GHz processor

    15.6” LED-backlit HD widescreen with 1366 x 768 resolution

    4GB DDR2 memory

    320GB hard drive

    802.11b/g/n wireless connectivity

    ATI Radeon® HD 3200 Graphics

  • Computer Requirements - Easy points?

I'm currently contemplating on whether or not to buy Empire: Total War because I'm not sure if my PC will play it.

The requirements for the game are as follows:

PC Processor Type - Intel® Pentium® processor AMD Athlon™ processor

    PC Processor Speed - 2.4GHz

PC Operating System - Windows XP, Windows Vista

PC System Memory - 1GB RAM

PC Hard Drive Space - 15GB

PC Video - 256MB DirectX 9.0c-compatible video card with Pixel Shader 2 or greater

My current PC is as follows:

    *Compaq SR5152NX PC

*AMD AthlonTM 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+ (2.0 Ghz)

    *ATI Radeon 256MB Graphics Card

    *100GB Free Hard Drive Space

    *2GB RAM

Anyone think this would work? I've been to system requirements lab, but I'm not too sure. Since my 2.0Ghz processor is a dual core, would that mean it could handle a 2.4Ghz game that's meant for a single processor?

  • Homecoming-2 weeks and counting!?

I'm expecting this years homecoming game and dance to be fun, but here's the thing.

I had no intention of going, but when someone asked me, I said why not. She isn't from around here, and it will be her last night before she goes back thousands of mile to where she lives, so I thought it would be fun for me and her.

Could we just meet up at the dance instead of going to dinner or to each others house before? (Her parents are aren't here to take pics)

How long does the dance normally last?

  • Important cross country question?

This is my first year doing cross country (11th grade), and I made varsity, so the pressure is higher to get a better time. I've had no other sports or running experience before this past summer.

So the thing is, I can run our home course at around a 19:00, and that just feels awful. We raced on a flat course, and I got a PR of about 18:30. I'm pretty sure it was the lack of hills that I did much better. I do well in practice, and the coach thinks I can break 18:00 on our home course, which I'm still not understanding...is it possible to drop 1 minute in 3 weeks? I'm doing my best, but the pain gets to me during the race, especially that last mile. What do you all think? Anyone ever had a break through on their last race? How do you know when you've raced to your limit?

  • Self studying AP Psychology?

Hello. Recently I have decided that I will study AP psychology myself since my school doesn't offer it, and I have a little extra studying time at home. It's doable for an intelligent person, right? Well, I can't be talked out of it now anyways ;)

*But my question is, what book(s) should I buy to prepare for it, and when should I start this preparation? The test is in May.

*Also, did passing this test help anyone save money in college, or was it a class that wasn't mandatory from the start?

    Thanks in advance everyone!

  • Getting into Honor's programs in college?

Has anyone here been accepted into an "Honor's College" or "Honor's Program" from applying to a university in their senior year of high school? I have my eye set on VCU's Honor's program for guaranteed admission to graduate school, but I am wondering if there are any other requirements to be accepted other than a high GPA and SAT scores.

    All answers are appreciated!

  • What animal would you be if you could choose one?

have the PERFECT idea of what animal I'd be if I could choose one. A Blue Whale. It's the biggest animal in the world and swims around in the ocean all day everyday. It lives off of the smallest food and has no predators so nothing harms it! It's a carefree peaceful animal! Care to argue?

    p.s.

Tigers can be hunted or killed by snakes

Lions get old and if they lose a fight to another lion, they lose their whole pride and have to hunt and fend for themselves. The savanna is lonely, cold, and dangerous when your alone!

Birds are shot down or defeathered and deep fried ;)
