  • Can a motherboard cause a GPU fan to fail?

Just yesterday, I booted up my PC and the fan on the four year old nvidia 7300 gt started to make loud noises. I cleaned out the PC and video card with caned air and it still made some really loud noises. I figured it was time to get a new video card anyway. So I went to the store and bought a geforce 220 gt and the card worked great all yesterday but, I turned on the PC today and the 220gt card started to make loud noises from the fan too. I don't OC my video cards. I dont use a fan controller. The PC is clean and no wires are in the way.

  • Should I teach them a lesson?

I was just fixing some settings with my wireless router and noticed that I had forgotten to program the wireless encryption. It’s been about a week with no encryption and I just noticed someone’s IP that was not mine was access the web with my connection. So, I decided to see if I could access their computer; and I can. The person that was using my internet connection has put their entire “C Drive” In their shared folder and I can view everything. I’m thinking about giving them a little scare, like printing something with their printer in the middle of the night, or restart their computer when they are using it, the possibilities are endless. So, should I give them a little scare or not?

P.S. I’m not one to cause any kind of permanent damage to someone’s PC. I just want to teach them a little lesson.

  • Does tcp/ip v6 relate to the MAC address of the NIC?

After installing tcp/ip v 6, I ran ipconfig and saw an IPv6 address. I don't think IPv6 uses DHCP, so I'm guessing it has to do with the MAC address. Any info on this?

  • Do you think that you should have to pay for tech support?

My ISP charges me ever time I have to call them for support. I said that this isn't right. You can't charge me for somthing that is your fault. They said "We Can" and I should sign up for the "tech support package" for unlimited calls for an extra $15.95 a month. I said I will be looking for a new ISP.

  • Do you think that the band "Linkin Park" is a "boy band"?

A group that is thrown togerther by big music executives just to make a profit, don't write their own (crapy) music, and put on a big "I'm so sorry for being sorry" kind of ack. They may not play typical boy band music, but they have all the traits of one.

  • Any good way to partition a drive with out installing the OS?

I made a minor mistake of formating the hole 320GB of space on my hard drive during a XP installation. Now I would like to make a new partition and install linux for a dual boot. Whats a good way to go about this with out deleting any data? The only safe way I can think of would be to back up everything and start over.
