Eek!  Tough question!  I like the wash cloth suggestion, the trick is to get the tanning lotion all over your hands, and then get it off the palms of your hands.

I know that they have tanning products out there SPECIFICALLY for use on the face.  It would probably be good to use that on your hands instead of an all-over tanner.

Also try using a tanning lotion that's supposed to do a light tan, instead of a deep tan, on your hands.  They'll be less likely to come out orange.
