Antonio "The Magician" Esfandiari (born Amir Esfandiari, December 8, 1978 in Tehran, Iran) is a professional poker player.

He moved to the San Jose, California when he was 9 years old, along with his family. Because of teasing at school, he changed his name to Anthony.

At 19 years old, he changed his name again to Antonio, and became a professional magician. While he was performing magic, he was invited to a game of Texas Hold 'em and started to play poker. In 2004, he won close to $1.4 million at the Commerce Casino. He won his first World Series of Poker bracelet a few months later in Pot-Limit Hold 'em.

Esfandiari appeared in the second series of Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament and will also appear in the third series. He is currently appearing in the GSN series High Stakes Poker.

Antonio Esfandiari first impressed me with his play at the Lucky Chances World Poker Tour event in 2002 where he finished third. I have stated many times how I get a kick out of someone getting the best of Phil Hellmuth and Antonio did the job at this event. He continually took the initiative and made Phil react to him. I was disappointed he only finished third because he was the star of the show

Perhaps Obama was bluffing when he said "don't call my bluff". It's the reverse psychology that only a genius like Obama can employ. Call the bluff, or don't call the bluff. We just don't know. So I think Obama is probably a better poker player than a president.
