Banking Question?
How long does it take to have your deposit available to withdraw if you make your deposit through an ATM? Depositing a cashier's check, so was curious.

Cashier's checks are good upon presentment. The bank may phone and check the validity of the item first to make certain it is valid, but an ATM is no different that presenting it in person, with one exception.
ATM deposits are only checked daily. Likewise, if it was deposited at an ATM not owned by a bank they wouldn't treat a cashier's check as different from any other item. Additionally, if the teller processing the cash items from the ATM didn't pay attention that it was a cashier's check, or if it was done after hours, it may delay crediting.
I would deposit a cashier's check in person. Legally a Cashier's Check is indistinguishable from cash. So a lost Cashier's Check cannot be replaced. It would be no different than losing cash. I really would want a receipt from a person in that case. Bank money orders can be replaced as can postal money orders. They can also have stop payment orders put on them.
Call your bank and the bank you deposited the money with if it is different to determine crediting times.

It all depends on ur banker; I bank with TCF and when I make a deposit via ATM. I am able to use the deposited money that very second. Other bankers may take one to two business days. So just try and find out .

usually immediately. The ATM might ask you if you want to withdraw the money you deposited.

Some banks differ, so I would call them.
