Well, I'm thinking of ordering a laptop, but would it qualify for my neccessities? I would need it for gaming and schoolwork.
-1 GB RAM, 120 GB Hard Drive -17'' wide-screen display -Supermulti 8x DVD + R/RW dual-layer drive with LightScribe -5-in-1 memory card reader -Windows Vista Home Premium -AMD Turion 64 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TL-50
PS: Is the AMD Turion 64 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TL-50 processor, better than the Centrino Duo (Core Duo)?
So would this laptop be good for schoolwork and gaming?
Thanks a bunch full~

My Recommendation:
2GB RAM 200+ GB Hard Drive 22" Wide display Windows XP (Vista is too early, No DX10 Games available yet) Intel Core2 DUO 2.4 or better (Faster then all Athlons) NVIDIA 8800 Video Card. (2 if you plan to use SLI SWEET!!)
Unfortunately this is a configuration for a Desktop.
keep an eye on alienware, they are coming out with a core 2 duo based laptop with 2 7950 video cards for under 2000. That is a sweet laptop for gaming.
Cut down abit on the screen as it's abit too big and add on the RAM coz gaming on vista needs high RAM and a good graphics card. Another reson to cut down on the screen is 17"" screens drink up the battery power in no time.
What's the video card specs? that will be important to game playing. 256Mb-512Mb minimum. Processor speed? 2Gigs or better. Outside of those things it sounds like a fine computer as long as it's not a Compac or Emachine.
