Lost wireless capability?

I'm a newbie.
I bought a laptop with wireless capability and was able to link to a linksys signal in my area and get internet on an unsecured connection. This worked for a month.
Now the computer says I've connected to the same linkup but no navigation to the net is possible as it says I have no connection.
Any ideas?

Need to check whether your computer is assigned IP after the connecting to wireless network, if no IP, basically you can do nothing.

The people running the router have probably discovered you were stealing their bandwidth, which is illegal. They will now have set up encryption. You will need to subscribe to your own connection.
