How do I check if the DVD burner I have in my computer takes "+" or "-" DVDs?

I'm looking at my hardware profiles in Windows and I'm seeing it anywhere. Any ideas where I could find this information?

DVD-Rs are supported by all burners by default.
DVD+Rs might not be recongnized by few. Just insert a DVD+R and see if burner software recognizes it.

Further burner utilities like Nero should be able to tell you what all are supported in you burner,

look it up on the website for the company that made the drive. Usually it's listed on the front of the drive itself. You can as well check with the place you bought the computer/drive and find out that way.

Good luck

It will take both and rw also, you would need to check if it would take dual layer disks or lightscribe disks
Or if it real new Blu ray or HD dvd

There is a tool named "Nero InfoTool" that will tell you everything about your cd/dvd drives.
