Do you not know you can not attack democrats. They can attack Republicans though, so I think you better apologize!!! It is so interesting to go back and read his statements to the Congress back then and relate it to the hate America crowd of today that the Moveon.org ad clearly showed. Do you think any of the mainstream dems will ever fully attack those ads or give money back to the hate group of all hate groups.
While there are some incidents of cruelty beyond the call of duty in this Iraq War, it is nothing like it was in Viet Nam. The Iraq War has not as yet lasted ten years, killed 50 to 60,000 American troops and at least a million Vietnamese. There was a great wave of anger among the young people opposing the Viet Nam War and the opinions of the older people slowly changed to agree with them.
John Kerry was heroic to speak out against the atrocities of the Viet Nam War. We have had incidents of the same kind of bravery recently, with the young soldier who rebelled at participating in the torture at Abu Ghraib, as one example. It takes bravery to speak up against a government policy, but then...as now...we were subjected to lies and misinformation.
John Kerry volunteered two times for that war and fought it well. Then, when he returned home, he had the courage to defy the leaders and help bring the war to an end.
Kerry spoke his opinion when he ran for president. Recently, he has not given his opinion publicly, leaving the speeches to the candidates. But, believe me, he is not in favor of this war and his vote will go along with his fellow Democrats.
Somehow, you seem to think that Al Queda and the Taliban kill babies, but our bombs do not. Think again!
Kerry's not running for president this time, so his opinions on foreign affairs don't get much press.
This is what he said recently about Afghanistan (that's where the Taliban and the al Qaida who attacked the US on 9-11 are).
“Afghanistan must not become the forgotten war,” said Kerry. “Our intelligence agencies recently estimated that Al Qaeda is regenerating its ability to attack the U.S. homeland from the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. The Administration would have a much better chance of improving the situation in Afghanistan if they created an experienced, bipartisan Afghanistan Study Group to come up with comprehensive answers, just as the Iraq Study Group did.”
“We’d have a much better chance of improving the situation in Afghanistan if the administration were willing to make this the top priority it should be,” Kerry said today."
You can check his website, if you want to know more about his views.
Try learning something. First of all, Hillary Rodham was a Goldwater Republican while in college.
Then, it's Massachusetts.
Finally, has Kerry ever said anything nice about the Taliban (not Talaban)? Of course not. He was in favor of the US invasion of Afghanistan to oust the Taliban. He has been critical of Bush for forgetting about fighting the Taliban.
He criticized US policy in Vietnam (not Viet Nam) because he is an American. America is run by Americans. We have a government of the people, by the people and for the people. Americans have the right and a duty to be critical of our government.
I think John Kerry has the crazy idea that we're better than the Taliban-that we shouldn't lower our standards to match theirs.
Hillary was a Goldwater Republican in college. She doesn't deride the military. But if neo cons keep repeating it....
"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State." -- Joseph Goebbels, German Minister of Propaganda, 1933-1945
