what should i do with my '92 jetta diesel? sell? or carry on with it?
i have a '92 jetta diesel (basic, no turbo) that is a tank. i love this car but it's getting old. in the last year i replaced all the clutch stuff (it was a $1500 bill) and now the transmission is being replaced as well (it'll be another $1500).
i know i could have used that money more wisely towards a new car (city jetta or golf!) but now it's done and i have to decide if it's NOW the time to sell this lovely old jetta or keep it because the main bits are all replaced.
it's only got around 215K km on it and the body's in great shape (west coast driven only... no snow or salt).
i'd appreciate advice from those of you who know about these things.
and, unfortunately, money is a dictating factor for me. i am not at a stage in my life where i can easily purchase a new car . yet, taking over a used one may well present the problems i am now faced with as well.
what to do.... what to do..... please.... advice anyone?
thanks.
interesting responses: 2 say keep, 2 say sell.
so that really answers my question.... the answer is: do what your gut tells you to do. and in my case, my gut is telling me to get rid of it.
thanks for your opinions guys... i can't pick a best answer because they all have merit.
you guys fight it out!
cheers!
