My father in law will be coming up to see my husband (his son) come home from Iraq ...he will be staying with us for several weeks, my question is he is on Coumadin blood thinner and needs his blood check weekley, he goes to the VA hospital in Florida where he lives...would he be able to go to the VA hospital here and have them draw the blood...we are stationed in New York state.
YES! have his primary care provider in Florida contact the nearest VA clinic or hospital where you are In New York State and set up a lab schedule. Then all he needs is his VA card and he will be cared for.
Yes, he can. He should call the VA hospital in your area and set it up. It really shouldn't be a problem. He may need to talk to someone in eligibility.
Yes, the VA does this. All he needs is his VA card and he will be set. He will also need to know the dose and exact medication...but he will be covered.
