What do you think of Auditing as a profession?

I have been auditing companies for about a year in order to get my CPA. Even though I think it is useful as a deterrent; I am shocked on how clueless most of the people are in my audit group when it comes to the subject matter they are reviewing, even the upper management. Has anybody else come across this?

It's because they don't take their job seriously. It's just a paycheck to them. They don't have the love of the job like you do. You'll go far. Stick with it.
