Any Herbal remedies for tendonitis in many fingers?
I have had cortisone injections in the palms of my hands every three months for one finger or another for treatment of contracting tendons. Has anyone actually used an herbal or alternative-medicine remedy to alleviate the contraction of the tendons? I do take a good multivitamin and don't know what is missing in my body that would do this do my tendons.
I know what it is caused by: being insulin-dependent for 40 years (Type I diabetes).
I already avoid salt, eat processed food
only about once per month, and avoid refined sugar.
I haven't tried acupuncture, though I know it relieves pain by increasing serotonin levels and other neurotransmitters in the brain. However, I don't think acupuncture in the hand tendons will stop fibrous tissues in the tendons from tightening and contracting. There is a method used by some doctors (which I have already investigated) that involves breaking up the fibrous tissue around the tendons with a needle through the skin. It may relieve the condition temporarily, but often scar tissue forms, ultimately making the tendonitis worse.
Any additional information out there on herbal remedies?
