I don't get it. Why do some people hate wind generators?
When I see a wind generator, I see progress...beauty in design, I love the look of them. But why do some people hate them? I'm thinking of putting one in, but my neighbor says they are noisy even though the one I plan on buying is 1/4 the noise output of the planes that fly over head all the time. So...what is it really?

Most people fear change, and it comes out in all sorts of stupid ways. And some people just like to complain. Others are worried what people will think with something "weird" (i.e. just new and different) in the neighborhood.
Some people legitimately don't like them because they can kill birds who could fly into it. I love animals, but I still don't agree with that logic because I see the bigger picture... all animals on this planet (including us!) will die if we don't stop using fossil fuels.
Well I go for anything that produce clean energy, but I think solar energy is better: they are noise-free, take less room, modern solar panels are more efficient now than before and for sure no bird is going the get "chopped" in two.
I think the noise argument is valid for a residential area; planes fly by but the wind generators is there 24/7, and much more closer than a plane.
People don't hate wind generators, I think what they really hate are the owners that put them on the wrong areas.
unsightly and noisy...however if they start thinking about owning some and selling the electricity back to the electric company and making money on it, the unsightly and noisy becomes miniscule in their decision.
