I don't get it. Why do some people hate wind generators?
When I see a wind generator,
I see progress...beauty in design.
Some say they make too much noise,
but I don't see anyone complaing about
the airplanes that make 4 times more noise
at 5 times the distance.
Some say they kill birds,
but these are people who don't even like birds
(i raise martins) and its more myth than truth.
Is it a republican thing...too green?
What is it really?

In order for a wind generator to work at its optimal level, it has to be on a bare hill, or at least out in the open. This means that they stand out on the landscape, a look which some people do not like.

Some reasons:
-To some people they are unsightly
-They must have their speed regulated, otherwise they do generate alot of noise from the tips of the blades
-Currently at least, they cost ALOT of money. Some people think the cost/benefit ratio isn't worth it
-They aren't a consistently reliable source of power. Obviously the nature of wind is such that the windmills are not totally reliable, so some of people wonder what the point is.
Personally, I am pro-windmill

I too see progress, but the bird thing isn't a myth.
On the coast of California is a windmill farm with many many windmills very close together (because of consistant strong winds there). It has decimated the bird population, which in turn has given rise to an uncontrolled bug population. The problem isn't with windmills themselves - the lesson here is not to put too many too close together.
I don't see why the towers of the windmills aren't covered with solar pannels too...

Many problems with them, don't get me wrong they are good for the environment and I have no problem with them but many others do. They do kill birds, they do make a lot of noise, and they are obscenely large. On you tube their is a video of a guy testing a windmill vs solar panel and the wind mill running is ridiculously loud. The sound is very directional though because of how it resonates.

People living near the wind generators had experienced too much noise. These are people in the countryside who are used to serene atmosphere.

They are loud.
They mess up broadcast TV and FM radio
They are put out in places that were nice and quiet and have to have heavy cables to carry the power where it is needed.

Maybe they own oil wells.?
