Series 7 Certification Exam?

Anyone taken it? What was your experience? Do you have some study tips for me?

Yep, took it and passed. Get the study materials. Take a class if you like -- I found it helpful to review the options theory, which is a decent portion of the exam. But most other sections are straight memorization.

Take the practice quizzes, multiple times if you have to. At first, your score won't be good, but you'll learn as you go. Once your average score is 70+, you're ready for the exam.

Note that the ethics portion has been increasingly important to the exam, given all the problems in the industry (e.g. SocGen). So don't gloss over that.

Good luck!

You need to study the law parts of Series 7. It is more to pass a test in SEC law.

Take the test seriously, and study study study. If you're not getting over 70 on the practice tests you won't pass.

I took the exam about 5 years ago. All I have to say is that there is a lot of memorization. So memorize, memorize, memorize.
