I have 12 yo cat, that is starting to vomit quite often. Help?

Yes, I've taken him to a vet, before everyone says to. The vet said it's just part of aging. It's not hairballs. I was wondering if any other people have had the same issue with their kitty. He's not getting into anything like plants, etc. Sometimes it's food, not be gross, sometimes it's just spittle. I just want to make him happy. Anyone have this same problem, and what did you do?

I have two 13 year old cats that have had the same challenge for about 3 years. My vet diagnosed them with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome)- she gives them a steroid shot once every 3 months and it stops the vomiting fast. I tried everything before I found the steroids were the only thing that worked. Cats have gained back the weight they lost and are quite happy. Good luck

We had a cat who would throw up every time after he ate. Then he would go back for more, and throw up again. IT was disgusting and we would find his cold puke everywhere! We figured it out that if we gave him a very small amount to eat, such as maybe a tablespoon, then waited about 15 minutes and gave him the same amount again, and then a third time it alleviated the throwing up! He was a very loveable kitty but he was mostly very nervous. Sometimes we did not have much time to give to him and that would make it worse...........but like I said giving him his food in small doses worked great.

Try 10 mg of pepcid in the am. I'm not joking, it worked wonder for a 14 year old that had vomited none stop for 3 days.

Good luck.
