Christmas Decorations Already?

Is anyone else tired of all of the Christmas hype coming up so soon? I've seen Christmas decorations up before Halloween! Thanksgiving (in the United States) seems to be getting passed over!

Thanksgiving in the US has been getting passed over for some time. It's kind of known for the big parades and then the football games. As for Christmas decorations and hype too soon, I totally agree with you. I've seen Christmas stuff in August! I mean seeing them before Halloween is bad but before Labor Day is downright ridiculous! Another think I've noticed is that a certain Detroit area radio station started playing Christmas music at Halloween time. Now that's crazy!

The radio stations are already playing Christmas music and decorations are already going up in stores. It's a giant marketing ploy. When it's thought that Christmas spending will be flat, marketers push Christmas on us earlier to get people thinking that they need to start shopping. Trends usually show that the last Saturday before Christmas (not Black Friday) is the most profitable for stores and once people start shopping they don't stop until Christmas Eve. So if stores can get people in the shopping mood early they can profit from the extra week or two. Thanksgiving isn't profitable so it gets overlooked from a money making standpoint.

I hear you. It is so true. I guess because Thanksgiving is only one day. By the time Thanksgiving comes, Christmas is only a month away. You have to admit that Thanksgiving is a great holiday, but Christmas is a much bigger holiday. It takes one day to prepare for Thanksgiving but it takes a whole month to get ready for Christmas between shopping and decorating. I do hate when Christmas decoration are in the stores early. One of my dollar stores near me was decorated for Christmas and it wasn't even Halloween. People just need to remember the true meaning of Christmas.

Thanksgiving is getting passed over b/c it's not very exciting. People hafta visit annoying in-laws, you don't get to decorate, you don't get anything other than food, you don't have a season just for it, there isn't any thanksgiving music... it's just like another day. No biggie. But Christmas Is the most amazing day/season/vacation/everything in the world! So everyone wants to prepare for it early!

Merry Christmas!

What bothers me is your concepts-set in the direction of the holiday. i think of you may examine Dickens "A Christmas Carol." in case you have examine it, examine it back. Scrooge isn't basically bah humbug and a comic book strip. he's representative of what maximum folk think of of Christmas, a party, an excuse to get inebriated. Christmas is a reminder that we are no longer basically hear for ourselves, that we are hear to make the international a extra ideal place, no longer for ourselves yet for others. that's with regard to the delivery of a youngster that got here into this international to make it a extra ideal place for each physique and a individual who gave up his existence so as that shall we are residing extra ideal lives right here and someplace else. We honor our infantrymen for loss of life so as that our usa could be unfastened yet whilst it comes time as quickly as a three hundred and sixty 5 days to honor somebody who gave his existence so as that the international must be unfastened, we are saying that's too a lot. Christmas isn't approximately decorations, embellishes, events. yet is is a pair of feeling in the direction of one yet another and it would be over earlier you already realize it. So, realize it for what that's. Peace.
