Why are Q&A brain childs messing with the voters of questions?

If it is not broke ,why mess with it. Now you have to sign in to pick the best question. They are killing a good thing. Too bad.

As far as I am aware, you have always had to sign in to vote on answers. Since points are awarded for voting, the site needs to know which account to award those points to.
