OK....first off- breathe, my friend! I am an Officer in Missouri, and have read many, many, many reports like this one.

These are produced when there is concern due to threats or illegal activity coming to light. This whole report is a compilation of information, and information only. The link to Presidential candidates is there because enough intelligence reports have linked certain groups to supporting certain people....again- it's information only.

Case in point- let's say I get a call for shots fired, and upon arrival- view a vehicle bearing an upside-down American flag, Ron Paul sticker and a "Don't Tread on Me' sticker. Do I now have some super-secret power to shoot on sight because I think it might be a Militia member? No. Absolutely not. But do I now use extra caution, knowing that the occupant "may" be a Militia member, who "may" be part of a group that is tied to illegal activity in the area? Yes. And that's the reason for reports like this....to make sure I am aware of all the possibilities.

Please re-read the report. In no way, shape or form is it "an alarming trend which confirms that law enforcement across the country is being trained that American citizens are a dangerous enemy."

Nor is it a "secret report". There are commonly reports issued that are "classified" to Law Enforcement only. But you need to remember it is a REPORT....a compilation of gathered information designed to arm LEO's with KNOWLEDGE. It is a report, and NOT a directive. It is not an order. It is merely information. Our job is to ensure that constitutional and civil rights are NOT abridged.

It does NOT say that anyone voting for Ron Paul is to be stopped, and have their constitutional rights violated! LOL

By the way- I kind of liked Ron Paul, and thought he has some great ideas! Should I arrest myself and violate my own rights now?

Here's another way of looking at Police information- If we compile a report that shows that 99% of purse snatchings are being committed by white teenagers who wear purple shirts, would you expect me to stop Asian females in an attempt to catch them? No- you should expect that I would be out there looking for white teens in purple shirts! Now, does it mean that every white kid with a purple shirt is now guilty of purse snatching? No....but it's good information.

Those links are personal web sites. I assure you, they are not official. The second reference you posted can't even spell "militia" right (they have it "malitia").

I read some of the first link, and observed it is poorly written. They use the word "that" quite often. Trained journalists know the word "that" is almost worthless, as the sentence almost always reads better without the word (try it on the sentence below I cut and pasted from the site, read it without the word "that", and you will see). Note "that" is used twice in the same sentence. This person is not educated in journalism.
