a few piercing questions...LITHA?

for those of you who follow LITHA with your piercings, have you ever noticed a difference in how much it crusts up?

example:
i have two lip piercings, done at separate times. the first one, I was religious about cleaning. didn't really have bad crust until the third week and by the fourth it had stopped. my second, i pretty much followed LITHA with the exception of my consuming certain food and drink and it was crusty until it healed.

another example:
my first two cartilage piercings were a rook to forward helix orbital. even with good cleaning, I still developed a hypertrophic scar and had/still have (still a healing piercing) massive crusties. my conch (on the other ear and only a little over a month old) I've followed LITHA and its hardly gets crusty at all.

strange?

to danielle:
first lip piercing didn't hurt one bit. I didn't even realize that my piercer had done it until he was sticking a mirror in my face to have me look at the jewelry.

the second one hurt for about 3 seconds. it went through a thicker part of my lip though.

I do have a high pain tolerance though, so it may or may not be different for you

for me, leaving it alone resulted in more tenderness and what seemed like a longer healing period. saline soaks are soooo much better, in my opinion. my theory is that the litha method was developed from a lack of information. we know now that doing nothing is better than soaking with peroxide, for example.
it just doesn[t make sense to me, and i know for a fact that litha will not work for everyone. i believe that the idea is to cater to the few who will have issues with other forms of aftercare. saline soaks works best for everybody, not just some or most.

I don't think I've noticed a difference in crusties. Maybe because I LITHA after two to four weeks after getting my piercings. So maybe the crusties die down a bit by that point anyway?
