I'm amazed at the number of folks who are already past the finals and hoisting the cup? The 4 teams left in the playoffs are very talented and deserving teams. Any one of them can win and whoever does has earned it. I'm a Canes fan and I believe they can win, however, so can the Pens, Blackhawks and Redwings. Rumor had it the Pens couldn't beat the Caps, the Hawks couldn't beat the Canucks, the Canes couldn't beat the Bruins yet here they are. Rumor also had it the Redwings would annihilate the Ducks but it took them 7 games to get it done. If you lack respect for the team you're playing, watch your back, that team may just step up and biotch slap you and send you to the golf course earlier than you expected. I don't like the Wings but I respect them. I want the Canes to win but I don't under estimate the Pens, and Wing fans, before you start hoisting that cup, show some respect to the Blackhawks or we may be hearing you yell "FORE" shortly. GO CANES!!!!!

I am pulling for my team as other fans are pulling for their team. Just don't pretend you are all deserving and overlook the other talented teams that are out there. Ever heard of David and Goliath???

Hey Penny, I've seen the Wings do that and more. The Canes may or may not win the cup...guess we'll just sit back, wait and see...sweetpea...

I agree pretty much. No team is guaranteed to win the cup, and people going around acting like their team already has it is ridiculous. Each team has a 25% chance of winning. And that doesn't change until the Conference Finals are over.
What the hell is wrong people. Of course a Wings fan is going to say the Wings will win, just like a Canes fan will say they're going to win, etc. What else do expect them to say, that their team is going to lose. Obviously a lot of people are jealous of all the success the Wings have had. Get over it. When your team has the best owner, GM, scouting and talent year in and year out, then you will have many great opportunities to win. Oh and by the way the Wings will send the Blackhawks to the links in no more than 5 games and will wait for the Penguins, to once again show them how it's done.
Can't understand where the bitterness comes from, the teams respect each other and that's who plays the games, so that's really all that matters.
I was waiting for someone to write something like this on here. :). I myself, am also a Carolina fan. I personally don't mind people running their mouth though. Just makes it that much better should they lose. The Pens and Wings are statistically the best teams left, but statistics mean NOTHING in playoffs, no matter what sport it is. Carolina and Chicago are dark horses and I haven't really seen many people pick either Carolina or Chicago to make it to the finals, but we will see when the conference finals conclude.
And the comment above mine, That's just hockey. Emotions run high in this game. What's done is done, and there's nothing we can do about it.
Don't know what rumor mill you live near but the Pens have routinely beaten the Caps in the Post season; The Presidents Trophy winner usually finds a way to lose to a low seed; and Boston apparently was designed to do well in the regular season but flop in the After party. Heck, the Ducks were only 2 years removed from hoisting the cup and most people of intelligence thought they would give the Wings all they could eat.
The Wings are still my odds on pick to repeat The rest of the 3 would have to be considered dark horses at best.
Not taking anything away from the Pens, Canes, Hawks; they are all capable teams and could come away with the Chalice.
This is how just bandwagon fans act. Don't you see the Pens bandwagon fans doing the same thing? Or Hawks bandwagon fans? Or Canes.... wait, I'm the only one on the Canes bandwagon right now... so nevermind.
However, the Wings bandwagon fans are different. Detroit hasn't missed the playoffs in nearly 20 years, so most of their bandwagon fans have been around for so long that they've actually forgotten they're just bandwagon fans, despite never learning enough about the game to be a real fan. Instead, they get snottier and more arrogant about their bandwagonesque opinions.
(This is not all Wings fans mind you, just the 40% or so of them that act like idiotic bandwagoners and then back it up with "I've watched the Wings win four hockey cup championships, so I know what I'm talking about.")
