The Flowers in the Attic series by VC Andrews is phenomenal! My all time favorite books. The series includes Flowers in the Attic, Petals on the Wind, If there be Thorns, Seeds of Yesterday, and Garden of Shadows.

Any VC Andrews series is good though. I can get through a whole series of hers in a couple days.

Also the A Child Called It series (A Child Called It, The Lost Boy, and A Man Named Dave) by David Pelzer.

I also liked A Million Little Pieces and the sequel My Friend Leonard.
