Well no one knows the exact cause but they say it either your diet or stress and some other junk but a way to get rid of em fast is salt put it right on the sore it hurts like hell but it'll be gone in like a couple of days but do this like 4-5 times a day the good thing is they are not contagious and it's not caused by the herpes virus like everyone else says Ive bin getting them since I was 9 and now I'm 19 I got couple now and they hurt like **** but the salt works fine :)
