Physics question, grade 11 level, 10 points for best answer?

Hey, I've been having some trouble with my physics homework, could anybody help me and explain step by step?

the formulas are:
a = (Vf –Vi)/t
d = Vit + (at^2)/2
Vf^2 = Vi^2 + 2ad

A toy rocket is thrown upwards off a platform that is 34.3m high, with a velocity of 29.4m/s.
a) Find the time necessary to reach the rocket's maximum height
b) Find the time it will take before the rocket reaches the ground
c) Find the velocity of the rocket when it hits the ground

thanks :)

Select the positive direction as downward. Then a=g, Vi=-29.4 m/s.
a) At the maximum height, the velocity Vf=0.
From g = (Vf - Vi)/t
t = (Vf - Vi)/g
t = (0 - (-29.4))/9.8
t = 3 sec
b) The time it takes to reach the ground is from
d = Vi*t + a*t^2
with d=34.3, Vi=-29.4 and solve for t.
t = 7 sec.
c) Use Vf^2 = Vi^2 + 2gd
with Vi=-29.4, g=9.8, d=34.3
Vf = sqrt(29.4^2 + 2*9.8*34.3)
Vf = 39.2 m/s

i've got have been given to assert Oregon State college and by way of a mile. a million) you like numerous of the flaws they could do there. that's amazingly significant, given which you are able to need extracurricular issues to do. 2) that's so fake. Sorry. 3) the ambience is sizeable, noticeably for soccer. that's a extensive plus. 4) that's yet another benefit. Now permit's see George Fox college (Which i've got in no way heard of) a million) undesirable, very undesirable given which you in basic terms ranted the way you cherished the great colleges. 2) would not count, in case you have the grades, you will get right into a grad college. 3) In college, you're particularly interior the dorms. Who cares! and not plenty extracurricular is destructive! Oregon State college seems to be like the winner here. P.S. it extremely is coming from a Florida State college fan, so i could be user-friendly. Hah.
