Why is is Windows7 not performing -READING-Hardware like ads say it will?

Windows 7 was supposed to make everything easier, why are so many having problems getting it to read new hardware when formatting-and if it does they freeze after awhile of use -2hours ! ! ! !

possibly if you look into the event log after a freeze or crash, you can find the underlying problem. mine was a card reader that had no drivers caused my mouse to not work. google around on where to find the event log in windows 7.
