I've had my cat for 7 years and she's never been scared of stroms until this year. Now, when there's a strom, she'll run to me with her tail tucked underneath her, meowing very loudly. Why is she all of a sudden scared of stroms?

It could be that something else has happened recently that scared your cat involving a loud noise and she has generalized it to other loud noises.
