why wont my window roll up on a 2001 chevy impala?
I was getting out the car today and after i shut the door, i notice a buzzing noise and i saw my driver side window going down real fast. I started the car back up, but only notice that it was making a noise when pressing up and down. The window is not coming back up. Any suggestions? Serious replies only and thanks for taking the time to read my question.

It sounds like either it slipped off the track or your window motor went out. It could even be the contacts in the switch not connecting right and they just need to be cleaned with alcohol and a q-tip scince its a 9 yr old car, no telling what could be on the switch terminals themselves. BUT, im willing to bet its your window motor with the info givin. Check all of your fuses too, you never know. Hope this helps even a little lol.
Sounds to me like the window jumped the track. The buzzing you heard was the power window motor attempting to close the window.
It all depends on why the window jumped the track as to how expensive the repair will be. Sometimes you get lucky and all you need to do is take the door apart and put the window back on the track. This is actually easier said than done on most cars.
However if the window jumped the track because of a part failure this will cost you more money.
the cost sounds greater than the KBB (I hadn't regarded on KBB however). If the previous proprietor took care of it and garaged it, the vehicle ought to have not have been given any difficulty utilizing yet another 50,000 miles. As KrazyKasse suggested, there will be some upkeep costs arising because of the fact the automobile's areas have wiped out by the years.
