Will the denialists help coin the next laughing stock statement of history?
I'm talking about phrases like: The Earth is flat. The Sun revolves around the Earth. The Universe revolves around the Earth. If man were meant to fly he'd have wings.
They can't deny reality forever and its eventually going to fall down on them.
@Mike L I didn't say anybody believed those statements. I meant the same effect that those statements have on us today.
@Mike L I fail to see how doing things better and being more efficient and better technology will put people back in the 15th century. Will you please enlighten me?
@Peter and who said "We are approaching a tipping point" or are you talking about in the future? I fail to see what your graph has anything to do with anything. Among other things that have been said here to prove the past isn't relevant unless you can prove its at a faster rate of change than the rate of change we us humans have achieved since the industrial revolution. Plus you can't completely compare early Earth with the Earth of today. Its like comparing apples to grapefruits.
@Jerry We all wish it was. But none of you have shown any evidence or logic to prove your statement. All you guys ever do is make statements like that, as if since you said it it must be true. For once you should assume that we don't believe you know it all and we want something to back up your words.
@Bob did you look at your link, the OPINION button is highlighted. Does that tell you something, the only people laughing are the frauds.
Edit: Do any of you gives have any logic to back up your statements or is that all you got?
I will give anyone of of you credit if you can show me any period in history where the global average temperature rate has bee 0.005 degrees C rise per year and the CO2 concentration have risen 0.625 PPM per year. Thats the rate of increase we have seen since the industrial revolution.
All you got to do is pull up a graph of and do the math. If your links are and graphs can be backed up by legitimate graphs and they show the rate of increase greater, I'll give you the prize. Barring unusual activity such as meteors, asteroid hits, super volcanoes.
You guys can laugh it off but the chances that all this happened by coincidence at the start of the industrial revolution is quite slim and the laugh will be on you.
@Peter You gave me another one of those believe me cause I have spoken statements. I want proof of it and out of curiosity how you could even come to that conclusion since the facts say you are flat out wrong.
@Ben O Yes people make predictions without knowing all the factors but the rate of melting is still astonishing. Just cause they were wrong with the timeline isn't the same as being absolutely flat out wrong.
@Duke You have a point there.
@linlyons also your point taken.
Edit2: None of you deniers going to take a crack at the chance I gave you to prove you are right in my firs Edit: line? Thats tantamount to saying we admit we are wrong.
@Peter No I didn't ask for a link from 2000, before the evidence really started rolling in, and no I didn't ask for your link from WhatsUpWith that a denial blogsite. I asked for logic as in give me the high and low temperatures of a period, subtract the two and divide it by the length of the period. And tell me the period you are talking about so I can verify you are not making things up. And yeah I know the world is all in a conspiracy and cooking up the numbers to make you look bad.
Edit: Well laugh it up guys cause soon enough the world is going to be laughing at you. But I am putting another checkmark next to my statement: That none of you have any plausible explanation as to what natural event could have caused the unprecedented rate of temperature increase and CO2 concentrations.
@OM Just cause you don't understand does not mean it is not true. If you don't want to be called a denier you can fix that by learning how Earth works and how essential the Earths CO2 sinks are to its process.
Put it simply we are suffocating the Earth by stoppering its CO2 sinks (drains) meanwhile pumping so much CO2 in the air. So now all the extra CO2 lingers around in the air and causes havoc to our weather patterns.
The facts are facts the Arctic is melting the oceans are getting more acidic because they are trying to take in more and more CO2. The coral reefs are getting bleached because of it, You can't deny that. You can't hold onto your position that there's no problem without being able to explain why you can choose the argument that is completelty wrong. Sorry but if you deny reality we call you what you should be called.
