. I've run steaming hot water and bleach several times and it comes back shortly after. Smells like sour clothes/stinky diaper pail. Clothes come out fine and we don't leave it between running and then switching it to the dryer. Stinking up laundry room. Plz help

Try baking soda or borax: run a wash cycle with hot water and one of these (no soap) and see if you get the same result.
Also, leave the washer door open/lid up so it can dry out between laundry days.
I have not come across a "stinky" w/machine before but after use, wipe the front door dry, take a cloth round the drum and leave the door OPEN 24/7. Mine has a rubber mounting round the inside for the rinsing water and it collects after a wash so I soak that up and dry it too.
you can buy washing machine cleaner. I have used it & it seriosly stunk up the laundry room for about an hour. once I aired it out, the washer smelled fresh. I leave the door open between washes now & haven't had any more stinkiness.
Have you tried cleaning the filter? Cannot tell you where it is but is will be noted in the instruction book. It collects all the gunge and the lints clogs the filter. Also the outlet pipes where the machine empties into also get a coating of soap scum and lint and dirt. You might need to take these off and clean.
tide has a cleaner do you have a front loader if you do there is a tub clean cycle that you put bleach in the compartment and then run the cycle or there is afresh when you are done leave the door open i have the same problem so i clean it once amonth
