I'm considering buying the iPod classic, but I want to know exactly how much memory it has. I'm assuming that, just like the 120 gb classic which only has 111 gb of usable memory, the 160 gb classic doesn't actually have 160 gb.

Just plugged mine in, and I've got a total capacity of 148.97 GB between Audio, Other & Free.

I even have ordered the classic one hundred sixty for christmas. i became thinking to fill it with all my mp3's in actuality I even have transfered all songs (around 40 cd's of mp3's) and that i basically use 30 GB !!!! i do no longer remorseful approximately it because of the fact i visit place some video clips now, yet I had quite overvalued the quantity of area i became desiring. i exploit mp3 with bitrates from 160k to 320k. some human beings that are maniac with high quality basically use looseless report format that use much greater room. perhaps you may attempt the classic 80 in case you like a huge one and video, and if i's basically for music, i could take an different sort with some thing like 20 GB. it quite is allready extensive !
